With Jefferson back in the starting lineup and Kyrie Irving and LeBron James returning from a night off for rest, look for the likes of Deron Williams, James Jones and Kyle Korver to move back to the bench.

Jefferson started at power forward alongside LeBron James in Monday's win over the Bucks but will now return to the bench in favor of Channing Frye. Jefferson and Frye will now likely split the minutes more evenly Wednesday, resulting in the veteran playing around 20 minutes against the Celtics.

The veteran started in place of an ill LeBron James on Saturday against Chicago, but he'll now replace Channing Frye at power forward, as the Cavs go with a smaller starting five. Given that contest, the move probably won't be permanent, and Frye will likely return to the starting lineup Wednesday in Boston.

Jefferson will draw the start at small forward Saturday against the Bulls with LeBron James (illness) out, Cavaliers play-by-play voice Fred McLeod reports.

The Cavaliers have been without Kevin Love (knee) for the last two games and are expected to be without his services for the next six weeks, but it hasn't resulted in Jefferson taking on an enhanced role off the bench. Instead, coach Tyronn Lue has leaned more heavily on natural power forwards like Channing Frye and Derrick Williams to fill the void at the position, while Jefferson has largely seen most of his time as a backup on the wing. Expect that trend to continue until Love returns, meaning Jefferson's opportunities to pick up extended run will largely be limited to games in which LeBron James sits out for rest or injury.

While that's still vital to the Cavs' success, Jefferson's supporting role won't lend itself to much fantasy appeal.

There was no indication prior to the game that Jefferson's status was in doubt, so the personal situation may have occurred at the last minute. Kyle Korver and Channing Frye figure to be in line for slightly increased minutes providing depth at the forward positions with Jefferson's absence.
