Zagorac was officially waived by the Grizzlies on Monday, Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Grizzlies exhausted all options in their attempt to trade Zagorac prior to roster cuts and will instead have to simply release him after failing to find a suitor. The former second-round pick is likely to field interest from other teams in need of a developmental prospect, though if he surprisingly isn't signed later this week, look for Zagorac to open the season in the G-League.

Zagorac is expected to be waived or traded by the Grizzlies before Monday's roster cutdown deadline, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 2016 second-round pick spent last season overseas but joined the Grizzlies for the 2017 preseason, during which he appeared sparingly in five games. Zagorac, 22, remains somewhat of an intriguing long-term prospect, but he's clearly not a major priority for the Grizzlies and will likely look to catch on with another team down the road.

Zagorac agreed to a contract with the Grizzlies on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Zagorac, a 6-foot-9 forward who the Grizzlies drafted with the 35th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, has spent the last six years with KK Mega Leks in the Liga ABA in Serbia. Last season with Mega Leks, Zagorac averaged 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.4 steals across 29.4 minutes, which was enough to convince the Grizzlies to bring him over to the United States. He should slot in as depth at the two forward positions in Memphis and provides another option that can shoot the ball from all over the floor, but his ability to play defense could be the biggest factor in how much playing time he sees during his rookie campaign. We should get a better idea of his role once training camp gets underway.

Zagorac recently signed a two-year contract extension with Mega Leks of Serbia, Sportando reports.
EDGE Analysis
Zagorac, who was selected by the Grizzlies with the 35th overall pick in June's draft, was always viewed as a stash option for the organization, and his new contract with Mega Leks will keep him abroad during the 2016-17 campaign. His deal includes an NBA out clause for next summer, so if the 20-year-old small forward continues to make strides on the defensive end while overseas, he could be a roster option for the Grizzlies in 2017-18. Zagorac already boasts a dependable jumper and range that extends to the three-point line to go with an improving low-post game.

Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace said Zagorac would likely remain overseas during the 2016-17 season, Peter Fleischer of FOX 13 Memphis (WHBQ) reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wallace suggested that Zagorac, who was selected No. 35 overall by the Celtics on Thursday before his draft rights were traded to the Grizzlies, still needs further seasoning, so the 20-year-old will continue to hone his craft in the Adriatic League. Over 13 appearances for Mega Leks a season ago, Zagorac averaged 13.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals across 29.4 minutes per game.
