Gasol finished with 14 points (6-11 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal across 23 minutes in Wednesday's 95-89 preseason win over the Magic.
EDGE Analysis
There was some confusion heading into the game whether or not Gasol would even play in the contest, but he retained his starting spot at center and submitted his best performance to date in a Spurs uniform. The assist production was especially good to see from Gasol, and his passing skills and ability to knock down jumpers should make him an ideal fit on the offensive end alongside LaMarcus Aldridge. Gasol has his limitations as a defender, however, so coach Gregg Popovich could turn to backup center DeWayne Dedmon more often when the Spurs are opposing a talented back-to-the-basket big man.

Gasol compiled five points (1-4 FG, 3-3 FT), three assists, two boards and one steal across 23 minutes in Saturday's 102-91 preseason win over the Hawks.
EDGE Analysis
Gasol's team debut was a rather muted one, but he did showcase his usual aptitude as a passer, with the three assists tying for the team lead. Since he's not expected to play major minutes in the preseason, it could be difficult to get an early read of Gasol's fantasy value, but it's generally expected that he'll see his numbers dip across the board by virtue of joining a far more talented supporting cast than he had in Chicago.

Gasol will not play in Monday's preseason opener versus the Suns.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Gregg Popovich is resting a bunch of his veteran players, which includes the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green and Tony Parker. Dewayne Dedmon will likely start at center in his place and could see extensive action throughout the preseason if Gasol continues to get games off. Gasol's next opportunity to play is a matchup with the Hawks on Saturday.

Gasol (calf) was cleared to play in Spain's semifinal matchup Friday against the United States in the Summer Olympics, International basketball writer David Pick reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gasol was dealing with a calf injury heading into Friday's matchup, but it looks as if the the injury isn't going to hamper the forward's ability to play. Barring a setback, Gasol should, for now, be seen as healthy with the NBA season still a couple months away.

Gasol is dealing with a calf injury and could sit out Friday's semifinal matchup with the USA, Nick Moyle of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear when the injury originated, but Gasol dealt with it during Spain's quarterfinal victory over France and continues to feel some lingering pain. He's currently been given a questionable tag heading into Friday, so we'll likely see his status updated sometime around warmups.

Gasol officially signed with the Spurs on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The terms of Gasol's contract have not been made public, but it was expected to be worth over 30 million dollars. Gasol averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in 32 minutes per game. He will likely be the starting center for the Spurs next season now that Boris Diaw and Tim Duncan are no longer on the team.

Gasol is finalizing a two-year deal with the Spurs, which is expected to be worth just over $30 million, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
With questions surrounding Tim Duncan and the possibility that he retires, the Spurs elected to pick up Gasol, who is a more than capable replacement. Gasol is expected to come in and start at center from the get go, meaning he should be able to post similar production to his 2015-16 campaign with the Bulls when he averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.0 blocks over 32 minutes per outing. Of course, coach Gregg Popovich likes to rest his veterans at points throughout the season, which could be a bit frustrating for fantasy owners. Either way, the Spurs will also need to make another roster move to get the numbers to work on Gasol's deal, with Boris Diaw currently the most likely candidate to be shipped out on a trade. The second year of Gasol's deal has a player option as well.

Gasol officially declined his $7.8 million player option for the 2016-17 season and will become an unrestricted free agent, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This move was expected all along, so Gasol's decision to decline on Monday was only a formality. He's expected to sign with a contender in need of a frontcourt presence, which very well could mean the end of his three-year run with the Bulls. Gasol recently announced he'll play for the Spanish national team during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but with free agency opening up on Jul. 1, he'll likely provide a decision on where he'll play next season before leaving for Rio.

Gasol will play for the Spanish national team during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
It will likely be the 35-year-old's last opportunity to play in the Olympics, so despite the widespread concern about the Zika virus in Brazil, Gasol didn't want to miss out on representing his country. Before heading out to Rio, Gasol figures to resolve his pending free agency. He's expected to sign with a contender in need of another frontcourt presence.

Gasol started 72 games for the Bulls last season and averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.6 steals and 2.0 blocks in 32 minutes per game. He shot 46.9 percent from the field and 79.2 percent from the charity stripe.
EDGE Analysis
Gasol had another excellent season as a nightly double-double threat. His ability to create plays should not be overlooked either considering his size. Gasol is expected to decline his player option and become a free agent this summer. It's uncertain if he will return to a Bulls team that admittedly is trying to get younger and more athletic. Gasol's fantasy value next season will be largely determined by where he signs.
