Patterson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lakers.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Dwane Casey had previously labeled Patterson as questionable, but unlikely to play Sunday, so as expected, the Raptors will keep the forward out and give him some additional time off to recover from a strained left knee. Patterson's absence should open up more minutes at power forward for starter Pascal Siakam, while DeMarre Carroll and Lucas Nogueira could also benefit from extra time at the position.

Coach Dwane Casey labeled Patterson (knee) as questionable to play Sunday against the Lakers, but conceded that the forward will probably be held out of the contest for precautionary purposes, Mike Ganter of The Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since Delon Wright (shoulder) and Jared Sullinger (foot) are already filling the Raptors' two inactive spots, it sounds like Patterson may dress for the contest. However, given Casey's comments, Patterson may only be available in emergency purposes, so look for Pascal Siakam and DeMarre Carroll to log most of the minutes at power forward, with Lucas Nogueira also potentially picking up some extra run as part of two-center lineups with Jonas Valanciunas.

Patterson (knee) was held out of practice Saturday, The Toronto Sun reports. "Don't think it's real serious, but it's something that's been bothering him, we'll err on the side of caution and making sure he's ready to go and not have to fight through it," head coach Dwane Casey said.
EDGE Analysis
Based on Casey's comments it seems unlikely that Patterson will be in the lineup Sunday against the Lakers, and he could miss a couple more games beyond that, but at this point the knee injury doesn't appear to be serious. The Raptors will mix and match at the four in his absence depending on who they're facing, which could mean more minutes for Pascal Siakam, Lucas Nogueira and Norman Powell.

Patterson suffered a strained left knee and will not return to Thursday's game against the Suns.
EDGE Analysis
He finished 0-for-3 from the field with zero counting stats of any kind in nine minutes before suffering the injury. He will have a couple days to rest up, as the Raptors don't play again until Sunday against the Lakers, but it sounds like something that could force Patterson to miss at least a couple games. This would mean more minutes for Pascal Siakam and some emergency minutes at the four for DeMarre Carroll.

Patterson provided 15 points (5-12 FG, 5-11 3Pt), eight rebounds and one steal across 31 minutes in a 95-91 win over the Trail Blazers on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
With coach Dwane Casey effectively phasing starting power forward Pascal Siakam out of the rotation the past two games, Patterson has taken on enhanced workloads in both contests, but it wasn't until Monday's game that he made much of a splash. The veteran big man has been a reliable contributor behind the arc with at least one three-pointer in each of his last 17 games while converting those opportunities at a 47.6 percent clip, but beyond that, his stat lines are often rather bare. This was just the second time in eight contests that he scored at least 10 points or grabbed at least six rebounds.

Patterson will sit out Tuesday's game against the Nets for rest, Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Patterson has been a solid contributor off the bench for the Raptors this season, but has reportedly been a bit beat up of late, so he'll sit out Tuesday to give him an opportunity for rest. He's fully expected back for Friday's matchup with the Jazz, but Pascal Siakam could be relied upon for even more minutes at the power forward position in his absence.

Patterson scored 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt) and added 13 rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 120-105 win over the Grizzlies.
EDGE Analysis
Patterson had easily his best game of the season, matching or exceeding his season high in points, rebounds, and three pointers made. Patterson has a stable role off the Raptors bench, averaging 29.5 minutes per game, and often playing more than starter Pascal Siakam. Despite the large workload and the impressive performance Wednesday, however, Patterson does not have much value outside of very deep fantasy leagues. He is a good source of threes and steals, but he is worse than most other power forward options in most other categories. He is a particularly inefficient shooter, currently averaging just 34.2 percent from the field.

Patterson put up a season-high 13 points (5-11 FG, 3-8 3Pt) to go with three rebounds, three assists and two steals across 33 minutes in Wednesday's 112-102 win over the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
Patterson isn't often asked to put up many shots in the Raptors' DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry-centric attack, but he found some space from beyond the arc Wednesday and was able to take advantage. Though Patterson has come off the bench for all seven of the Raptors' games, he's the de facto starter at power forward, as he's averaging 31.0 minutes per game to rookie Pascal Siakam's 17.6 per game.

Patterson provided three points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, five blocks, three assists and one steal across 33 minutes in Monday's 105-102 win over the Nuggets.
EDGE Analysis
Though coach Dwane Casey elected not to promote him to a starting role with Jared Sullinger (foot) out for the next two-to-three months, Patterson has still seen the bulk of the minutes at power forward, with rookie Pascal Siakam acting as more of a placeholder in the starting five. Patterson won't be relied on for much offense when he shares the court with DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry, but the strong defensive stats he posted Monday illustrate the value he brings to the floor. Unfortunately, the five blocks should probably be viewed as an outlier for a player who averaged just 0.4 rejections per game a season ago.

Patterson contributed five points (2-6 FG, 1-5 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists and one steal across 34 minutes in Friday's 94-91 loss to the Cavaliers.
EDGE Analysis
It looks like coach Dwane Casey will proceed with rookie Pascal Siakam as his starting power forward in the wake of Jared Sullinger succumbing to a foot injury, but Patterson still grades out as the better single-season fantasy entity even while remaining on the second unit. He's surpassed Siakam in playing time in both of the Raptors' first two games, and more than doubled him in minutes Friday. That being said, Patterson hasn't used that playing time to provide much meaningful fantasy production, and that will likely remain the case for the duration of Sullinger's extended absence.
