Midseason Grades: Southeast fantasyalarm.com Mon 3/12/12 1:52 PM

Are you getting distracted by Spring training? If you are like me, you are balancing your time (or trying to) between prepping for MLB auction/drafts and keeping a keen eye on your NBA fantasy team. Continuing with our NBA mid-season reviews, we wrap up the Eastern Conference with a look at the Southeast Division. Host your fantasy baseball league and play Free Fantasy Baseball at Fleaflicker with full commish options and live scoring/stats. Miami Heat 31-9- The only grade that matters in South Beach is if the Heat take home the title. Anything less than an NBA championship will be considered a faliure in South Florida. Rookie Norris Cole's surprise effectiveness has motivated Mario Chalmers, greatly improving the point. Chris Bosh has become more physical and Lebron is having a career year. The only concern may be the health of Dwayne Wade. Orlando Magic 27-15- We should know by Thursday if Dwight Howard will have an extended stay in Orlando. Superman has been very outspoken this season about his future, so much so that I have lost track. Howard will either sign an extension or get traded, most likely in the next few days. The Magic don't have much to offer to add a signifcant star to entice Dwight to stay, so it appears likely he may be moved. Atlanta Hawks 24-17- Atlanta has maintained better than expected without injured big man Al Horford. Joe Johnson has stepped up his game, but has been injured of late. Josh Smith now says he wants to be traded by the deadline, so add that to the list of stars that may be on the move this week. Marvin Williams appeared to be on the verge of a breakout season, then...

Jeremy L-included in Rising Stars Game fantasyalarm.com Fri 2/17/12 10:43 AM1 Comment

Last night, Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley chose their rosters for the Rising Stars game, which is part of NBA All-Star weekend. A week prior, I took a shot at drafting for them to see how it would compare. Was there any doubt that the Association had to add Jeremy L-in every event possible? Miami rookie point guard Norris Cole was the lucky beneficiary also added to balance the rosters at ten each. Check out our 2012 Fantasy Baseball Rankings. C -- 1B -- 2B -- SS -- 3B -- OF -- SP -- RP Shaq and I both took Blake Griffin with the first pick, a no brainer for sure. I had John Wall in the first round with Kyrie Irving in the second, Barkley took Irving in the first, with us both taking DeMarcus Cousins in the second round. I agreed with Shaq in taking Charlotte point guard Kemba Walker in the sixth round, Barkley and I both liked New York guard Landry Fields in the seventh round. Looking at the two teams, you have to love Shaq's squad. Imagine Lin and Ricky Rubio in the backcourt together out on the break with Griffin trailing.... scary. ...

Trade High, Acquire Low fantasyalarm.com Mon 1/9/12 4:46 PM

When dealing with investments, its advisable to buy low and sell high and fantasy sports are no different. Have a player who is outpeforming or overachieving? Time to move him before reality balances the numbers. Is a stud player off to a slow start? Law of averages suggests he will have to exceed the norm in order to balance things out. Its difficult for many in fantasy sports to execute this policy and sometimes it does backfire. While this applies to trading, you should also buy low when considering waiver moves. Fantasy Football doesn't end with the regular season - at Fuzzys Fantasy Football we're only getting started. Join a Playoff League today and continue the Fantasy! Sell High- Mario Chalmers- Chalmers is accumulating artificially high numbers with the injuries to James and Wade, so now is the time to deal. Miami also loves rookie point guard Norris Cole, which doesn't bode well for Mario. A dilluted situation is only going to get worst. Richard Jefferson- Jefferson is off to a great start despita almost getting ditched with via amnesty. The Spurs only need Jefferson until rookie Kawhi Leonard is ready. The former San Diego State star is showing signs, you should take note. Ben Gordon- After a disappointing stint in Detroit, Gordon has had some nice outings, taking up the slack for the departed Richard Hamilton. But make no mistake, the future backcourt is Brendan Knight and Rodney Stuckey, sooner than later. Drew Gooden- Andrew Bogut has been away and Gooden has had some incredibly high scoring and rebounding numbers over the last week. The slide has begun and Bogut is returning, so move him now before its too...
