Reid is coming off another stellar season for Minnesota, as his numbers improved across the board during the 2024-25 campaign. The LSU product missed only two games during the regular season and put up career-high totals in points (14.2), rebounds (6.0) and assists (2.3) per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from deep.

Reid registered 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt), five rebounds, three blocks and one steal over 24 minutes during Wednesday's 124-94 loss to the Thunder in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.

Reid continued to display impressive efficiency against the Thunder as he recorded his fourth straight outing with double-digit points during Wednesday's season-ending loss. However, the 25-year-old big man struggled with ball security, coughing up five turnovers. While Reid is one of the NBA's most productive bench bigs, he could opt out of his $15.02 million player option for the 2025-26 season in order to receive a bigger role on a new team if Julius Randle remains in Minnesota.

Reid closed Saturday's 143-101 win over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals with 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists and one block over 19 minutes.

Reid delivered an efficient performance after shooting just 4-for-19 in the club's first two games of the Western Conference Finals. The big man also shot an abysmal 0-for-12 from beyond the arc in that two-game span. Over three Western Conference Finals appearances, Reid has averaged 8.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks across 25.0 minutes per contest.

Reid contributed eight points (3-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 21 minutes during Wednesday's 121-110 victory over the Warriors in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Reid was limited in the victory, scoring single digits for the third straight game. It's been a postseason full of ups and downs for Reid, with his role typically dictated by the individual matchup, as well as the play of Rudy Gobert. In fact, Reid has scored more than 15 points only twice during the playoffs, while tallying fewer than 10 points on five occasions. Minnesota now moves on to the Conference Finals for the second straight season, where it will face either Oklahoma City or Denver.

Despite a 3-1 series lead for Minnesota, Reid has yet to find much of a rhythm against the Warriors outside of a productive Game 1. Reid is averaging 11.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.5 three-pointers on 53.1 percent from the field in 28.3 minutes per contest.

Reid posted 19 points (8-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 34 minutes during Tuesday's 99-88 loss to the Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

EDGE Analysis

Reid was one of the standout players for the Timberwolves. In a game where the frontcourt struggled badly, the big man stepped up and made his presence felt on both ends of the court. Even though he had to leave the game in the latter stages of the second quarter due to an apparent hamstring problem, he didn't show any effects in the second half and should be ready to continue playing his sizable role off the bench going forward.

Overall, Reid averages 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists on 55.9 percent shooting from the field and 52.4 percent from beyond the arc through four games.

With the series tied at one win apiece, Game 3 is set for Friday in Minnesota.
