The Nuggets and Brown agreed to a deal Friday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

After spending last season with the Pacers and Mavericks, Brown is now set to provide depth at center behind Nikola Jokic and Jonas Valanciunas. The 25-year-old big man most recently appeared in the Las Vegas Summer League with the Rockets, and he was a G League standout last year. Brown averaged 18.3 points, 16.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 32.2 minutes per game over 32 appearances for the Westchester Knicks during the G League regular season in 2024-25.

Brown became a free agent Sunday after his 10-day contract with the Mavericks expired, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Dallas frontcourt has been decimated by injuries lately, which had paved the way for Brown to handle a significant role after he signed with the team on Feb. 10. He appeared in four of the Mavericks' last five games, and he started the last two while averaging 19.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks in 26.5 minutes in the most recent pair of contests. As Smith notes, the Mavericks don't have room under their first-apron hard cap to sign Brown to a second 10-day deal, nor can another player be signed to the 15-man roster until April 10. As such, Brown looks like he'll have to head elsewhere to find work, even though Dallas would presumably be interested in re-signing him if it had the ability to do so.

Brown posted 18 points (8-9 FG, 2-2 FT) and nine rebounds across 22 minutes during Saturday's 132-117 loss to the Bucks.

EDGE Analysis

The journeyman center made his second straight start for the Mavericks and nearly produced his second straight double-double. Brown is seeing a big role in the frontcourt with Anthony Davis (thigh), Daniel Gafford (knee) and Dereck Lively (ankle) all on the shelf, and the latter two aren't expected back in the lineup until April. Davis should be re-evaluated soon, and Dwight Powell might see his workload grow as he gets back up to speed following a one-month absence due to a hip issue, but in the short term, Brown is holding down the fort in the paint.

Brown supplied 20 points (9-14 FG, 2-3 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks and three steals across 31 minutes during Thursday's 103-96 victory over the Hornets.

EDGE Analysis

Making his first start of the season Thursday, Brown posted his first double-double of the season while setting new season highs essentially across the board. The Mavericks are likely to remain without Anthony Davis (adductor), Dereck Lively (ankle) and Daniel Gafford (knee) for the foreseeable future, leaving Brown with an opportunity to remain Dallas' starting center for the time being. With that said, Brown is currently under a 10-day contract with the team, so the veteran big man is only worth a speculative add in deeper fantasy leagues while Dwight Powell has a minutes restrictions.

Brown will enter the starting lineup in Thursday's game against Charlotte.

EDGE Analysis

The big man will supplant Kessler Edwards in the starting five, drawing his first start of the 2024-25 campaign with P.J. Washington (ankle) sidelined. Over 10 appearances with Dallas, Brown has averaged 3.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 6.7 minutes per contest.

Brown registered two points (1-2 FG), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 12 minutes during Friday's 111-103 win over the Pelicans.

EDGE Analysis

With Dallas dealing with injuries to Anthony Davis (adductor), Dereck Lively (ankle), Daniel Gafford (knee) and Dwight Powell (hip), the Mavericks signed Brown to a 10-day contract to add some depth at center. Despite coming off the bench, Brown ended up matching starting center Kessler Edwards in minutes, and the duo could have that kind of split in playing time moving forward while the Mavs use P.J. Washington at the five in small-ball lineups.

Brown played 19 minutes Sunday during Westchester's 107-95 G League win over the Swarm and tallied 10 points (4-10 FG, 1-1 FT), 13 rebounds and two steals.

Brown played in his first G League game in nearly a month after spending time with the Pacers and ended up recording a double-double in his return. Across his five outings with Westchester so far this season, he currently averages 16.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
