Utah will have the ability to bring Bamba back on another 10-day pact or rest-of-season deal, though the Jazz could be content to proceed with Kyle Filipowski, Oscar Tshiebwe and Kevin Love as their options at center and instead reserve the open roster spot for a player at a different position.

Bamba ended with four points (2-3 FG), eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 21 minutes during Wednesday's 106-102 loss to Philadelphia.

This was Bamba's first taste of action since he signed a 10-day contract Feb. 26. He made a strong impression, and with his shot-blocking upside, he's worth monitoring in case he sticks around.

Bamba signed with the Raptors on Dec. 29 to a one-year contract, but the deal was set to become fully guaranteed if he had remained on the roster through Wednesday. Rather than keeping Bamba around at a prorated $1.86 million salary, the Raptors will instead part ways with the veteran center. With Jakob Poeltl (back) still facing an uncertain timeline to return to action, the Raptors could still elect to bring Bamba back on a 10-day deal in order to bolster their depth in the frontcourt. Bamba played just six total minutes over two appearances in four games after signing his first deal with Toronto.

Bamba will likely provide Toronto with some frontcourt depth temporarily while Jakob Poeltl battles a back injury. He'll likely compete with Sandro Mamukelashvili and Collin Murray-Boyles for center minutes. Bamba, now 27 years old, has had an outstanding season so far with the Jazz's G League affiliate Salt Lake City Stars, averaging 10.0 points, 16.0 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game.

The terms of the deal have yet to be reported, but this may be a training camp deal. Bamba has bounced around the league quite a bit with stints in Orlando, both teams in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New Orleans. He holds career regular-season averages of 6.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.

Bamba appeared in four of the Pelicans' five games during his 10-day deal, averaging 2.5 points and 6.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes. New Orleans had the option of re-signing him to a second 10-day deal prior to Friday's 134-93 loss to the Timberwolves, but the organization seemingly intends to take a different approach with the open roster spot.

Bamba contributed two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist and one block across 26 minutes during Thursday's 113-93 loss to Orlando.

Bamba, who is on a 10-day deal with the Pelicans, now has two games under his belt. His production has left a lot to be desired, however. In 20.5 minutes, he's averaging 1.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.0 blocks on 20.0 percent shooting from the field.
