Williams will start the Hornets' preseason opener Friday against the Celtics.
EDGE Analysis
This isn't exactly breaking news, but it's nonetheless noteworthy that Williams is getting the nod at power forward over Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

Williams, along with everyone else on the Hornets aside from Kemba Walker, will be competing for a starting role heading into training camp, Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The news comes from the Hornets' new head coach, James Borrego. A bit of a shake-up wouldn't be surprising, as Charlotte only made the playoffs twice in the past five years with Steve Clifford at the helm, and the team never made it past the first round. Williams has been on the team for the past four years and has been a full-time starter over the past three. However, he only played 25.7 minutes per game last season, averaging 9.5 points and 4.7 rebounds. He could garner a similar workload this year despite possibly coming off the bench.

Williams recorded 15 points (5-12 FG, 5-9 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal during Tuesday's 119-93 win over the Pacers.
EDGE Analysis
Williams wrapped up the regular season by scoring double figures in each of the last four games. The 31-year-old's season totals of 9.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists all declined from last season however. Set to make a whopping $30 million over the next two seasons, Williams comes with a hefty price tag if the Hornets try to move him down the line eventually.

Williams had 16 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 22 minutes during Sunday's 123-117 loss to the Pacers.
EDGE Analysis
Williams, who has been terrible all season, produced his third consecutive performance with double-figures scoring. He has also racked up a combined 10 three-pointers and 15 rebounds in that period. This was too late for most owners as he would have been dropped some time ago. Great timing.

Williams scored 18 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding eight rebounds, four assists and a block in 28 minutes during Tuesday's 120-114 loss to the Bulls.
EDGE Analysis
It was his best scoring performance since he lit up the Pistons for 21 points back on Jan. 15. Williams' inconsistency and low fantasy ceiling make him tough to roster in most formats, and with the Hornets eliminated from the playoffs, the 31-year-old's minutes could dwindle over the final three games of the season.

Williams had just five points (2-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes during Sunday's 119-102 loss to Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Williams poor season continued Sunday, contributing just five points and very little else. He has had a few games this season, reminding owners of what he was able to do more consistently last season, but on the whole, has languished on a lot of waiver wires. Dwight Howard has taken a lot of the rebounding upside away from Williams leaving just his scoring as the main strength. When his shots aren't falling, he struggles to maintain fantasy relevance.

Williams went for nine points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds and two assists across 24 minutes in Saturday's 102-98 win over the Mavericks.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran big fell just short of a double-double, but he was able to seal the win by making a pair of free-throw attempts with five seconds remaining after the Mavericks had closed to within 87-86. Williams' rebounding total equaled his best of March, and he's encouragingly bounced back from a dreadful three-game shooting slump (3-for-19) to drain eight of 13 attempts over the last pair of contests. His offensive contributions do see their fair share of variance, but he remains a serviceable multi-category contributor as the season winds down.

Williams finished with zero points (0-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 111-105 win over the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Williams couldn't get anything going in this one, and he has been extremely inconsistent this season. Through 10 March matchups, Williams has managed just two points on four separate occasions, though he has also reached double figures four times as well. Given his regular struggles, Williams is best reserved for use in deeper leagues.

Williams (eye) is not listed on the injury report for Tuesday's matchup with the Pelicans.
EDGE Analysis
Williams took a shot above his eye during Saturday's game against the Suns, but was ultimately diagnosed with just a laceration, so it wasn't anything too serious. As expected, he'll be in the lineup as usual Tuesday and should take on his typical starting role at power forward. Williams isn't expected to have any sort of restrictions and can be activated as usual by fantasy owners.

Williams produced 16 points (5-10 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block across 27 minutes during Saturday's 122-115 win over the Suns.
EDGE Analysis
Williams briefly left the game to receive stitches for a laceration he sustained above his left eye, but he returned to the floor and filled the box score in impressive fashion. The veteran wasn't in the best run of form prior to this contest, scoring in single digits in five of the last seven games. He continues to see his share of playing time, however, and will look to use this game as momentum heading into Tuesday's game against the Pelicans.
