Over the five games prior to Sunday, Williams had averaged 7.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.6 treys, 1.4 steals and 1.2 assists in 27.2 minutes per contest, so it's best not to view the outing as a harbinger of what's to come, especially since it came against a 4-16 squad. Williams' fantasy outlook will likely take a further hit in the Hornets' next game against the Bucks on Monday, when Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will likely be available to return from a six-game absence. Kidd-Gilchrist had been coming off the bench prior to getting hurt but could still cut into Williams' minutes to some extent.

Williams (face/nose) isn't listed on the Hornets' injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Thunder.

Williams' exclusion implies that he merely suffered cosmetic damage to his face rather than a concussion after taking a blow to the head in Wednesday's 127-109 win over the Pacers. The forward, who finished the night with nine points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three steals, two rebounds, two assists and one block across 23 minutes, shouldn't face any restrictions Friday.

Williams suffered a facial contusion and a bloody nose Wednesday against the Pacers and is questionable to return.

Despite the efficient night, Williams is not a reliable option outside of deeper leagues.

EDGE Analysis

Williams reached double figures in scoring for the first time through three games this season. However, he did swat another four blocks in Wednesday's opener, and he has also grabbed 19 boards, so Williams is contributing in other categories. With that being said, he's best reserved for use in deep leagues.
