Smart contributed 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and four rebounds in 36 minutes during the Celtics' 121-110 victory over the Nets on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He had been handling some point guard duties in the brief absence of Kemba Walker (neck), however the latter's return puts a lower ceiling on Smart's usage. He will never be the center of the offense, but he's a streaky shooter with upside who is capable of stuffing the stat sheet. Smart also happened to grab a broom and dislodge the ball from the top of the backboard for the second straight game, so he truly does do a little bit of everything for the Celtics. He'll remain a vital component of their backcourt.

Smart (hand) doesn't appear on the Celtics' injury report for Wednesday's game against the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Smart jammed a knuckle in Monday's 103-102 win over the Kings, but the Celtics apparently don't view it as a concern heading into Wednesday's contest. After shifting over to point guard and recording 17 points, seven assists, five steals, three rebounds and one block in 37 minutes Monday, Smart will shift over to an off-ball role with Kemba Walker (neck) cleared to return from a one-game absence.

Smart will be re-evaluated Tuesday after jamming his knuckle during Monday's game against Sacramento, Brian Robb of BostonSportsJournal.com reports. He finished with 17 points (7-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven assists, five steals, three rebounds and a block in 37 minutes.
EDGE Analysis
Smart noted after the game that the knuckle issue has been nagging him since the FIBA World Cup, and he got it compressed by the team training staff following Monday's clash. The Oklahoma State product is expected to have the issue examined again Tuesday at which point his availability for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn should become more clear.

Smart had 15 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3PT, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Friday's 96-92 loss at Denver.
EDGE Analysis
Smart has scored in double figures in seven of his last eight contests, although he has done it at a rather inefficient rate since he is making only 40.2 percent of his field goals -- and 35.9 percent of his threes -- over that span. However, he could be in line for a slight uptick on his usage if Kemba Walker is forced to miss some time due to injury going forward. Up next, Boston plays at home Monday against the Kings.

Smart totaled 15 points (7-20 FG, 1-11 3Pt), eight assists, three rebounds and two steals in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 107-104 loss to the Clippers.
EDGE Analysis
Smart didn't appear bothered by an ankle injury suffered during Monday's game, playing 40 minutes in the overtime loss. Smart was at his tenacious best on the defensive end, making a number of crucial plays down the stretch. The offensive end was a different story, however, as he went just 1-of-11 from the perimeter. He will be better than this on most nights and the peripheral numbers are always enough for him to hold value in all formats.

Smart won't have a minutes limit in Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Tom Westerholm of MassLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart won't have a minutes limit despite being listed as questionable heading into Wednesday's matchup due to a right ankle sprain. Given that he won't be limited, Smart should approach his season-long averages of 11.8 points, 4.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 2.7 threes, 1.2 steals and 31.5 minutes.

Smart (ankle) said he expects to play Wednesday against the Clippers, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart sprained his right ankle during Monday's win over the Suns, but he's apparently feeling better and won't miss any time because of the issue. Over his last five appearances, Smart is averaging 14.2 points, 5.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and a combined 2.0 blocks/steals in 34.2 minutes.

Smart (ankle) is listed as probable for Wednesday's contest against the Clippers.
EDGE Analysis
Smart sprained his right ankle during Monday's game versus the Suns, and being listed as probable on the injury report is great sign regarding the availability in Wednesday's slate for the Oklahoma State product. If the Celtics ultimately elect to hold out their shooting guard though, Javonte Green may be in-line for a spot-start versus the Clippers.

Smart (ankle) will be re-evaluated Tuesday to determine a timeline for his return.
EDGE Analysis
Smart suffered a sprained right ankle during Monday's matchup, though the injury doesn't appear to be overly serious at this point. After the game, coach Brad Stevens noted that Smart's ankle wasn't all that swollen, which is certainly positive news. The team should have a better idea of his availability moving forward following Tuesday's evaluation.

Smart won't return to Monday's game against the Suns due to a right ankle sprain, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smart's injury didn't look good initially, so it's unsurprising that he's been ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Javonte Green and Brad Wanamaker could see more minutes as a result.
