Williamson agreed to a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

Williamson will provide much-needed backcourt depth for Memphis down the stretch of the regular season, as the team has shut down a number of key contributors for the rest of the campaign due to injuries. The 27-year-old has appeared in 46 games in the G League this year across stops with the Memphis Hustle and the Windy City Bulls, averaging 7.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 23.7 minutes per contest.

Williamson (undisclosed) did not suit up for Ontario's Friday night matchup against the Austin Spurs.

EDGE Analysis

Ontario has been stricken with injury and Williamson is part of that trend as he's dealing with an undisclosed injury or illness. When he nurses back to health, expect him to play an integral role as a spark plug off the bench.

Williamson finished with 14 points (5-14 FG, 4-11 3Pt,), seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in 37 minutes during Thursday's 131-95 loss to the South Bay Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

Williamson did a little bit of everything for Ontario contributing as a scorer, rebounder, playmaker and defensive stopper being active in the passing lanes, and acting as a rim protector. Expect him to continue to play at a high level as a defensive presence and floor-stretching forward.

Williamson signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Clippers in June, but he finds himself among a wave of cuts following Los Angeles' preseason opener. The Loyola product averaged 13.7 points across 32.0 minutes during his final collegiate campaign and will likely begin the 2022-23 campaign in the G League.
