Aldridge (hip) will see doctors at the beginning of next week, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Spurs play Monday and Tuesday against the Warriors, so it seems relatively unlikely Aldridge will be available for those games. Assuming that's the case, Jakob Poeltl should continue seeing an expanded role.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said Aldridge (hip) will be out beyond Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Jeff Garcia of News 4 San Antonio reports.
EDGE Analysis
The big man will apparently avoid surgery to address his right hip flexor injury, but the Spurs are preparing for him to miss multiple games. Jakob Poeltl is starting in his place Wednesday and is a strong candidate to remain with the top unit as long as Aldridge is sidelined.

Aldridge won't play Wednesday against the Timberwolves due to a right hip flexor injury, RJ Marquez of KSAT 12 San Antonio reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old apparently picked up the injury Monday against Memphis when he had 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt), one rebound, one steal and one block in only 18 minutes. Jakob Poeltl is the likely candidate to enter the starting five for San Antonio, while Aldridge's next chance to take the court will be Saturday at Houston.

Aldridge recorded 20 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 28 minutes Wednesday in a 110-106 win versus Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Though he averaged fewer minutes (24.3) in his past six starts, Aldridge is trying to supply sufficient value by shooting the ball at will. He has done so by averaging 15.2 points across that six-game span of lesser minutes. Though his current average is down from last season's rate (18.9), Aldridge remains at least a serviceable option if available on the waiver wire.

Aldridge and the Spurs will not play Monday against the Pelicans after the game was postponed, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is the first postponement of the season for San Antonio, which was preparing to play on the second night of a back-to-back set after beating Washington at home Sunday. For now, the Spurs' next scheduled game is Wednesday against Boston.

Aldridge produced 15 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds and two blocked shots across 24 minutes in Sunday's 121-101 win over the Wizards.
EDGE Analysis
The most likely reason for Aldridge's dip in production was how wildly inaccurate the Wizards were in their return to action. The number of errant shots resulted in some wild bounces that often ended up in Dejounte Murray's hands. Aldridge's numbers are usually going to live and die by that rebound number, and despite the decisive win, those totals just weren't there for the center.

Aldridge posted 26 points (11-18 FG, 4-7 3PT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block in 30 minutes during the 122-117 in the loss to Dallas on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Aldridge did not disappoint in the loss Friday. The center has been up and down lately in the past few matches, but put together a strong outing to rebound. Aldridge just missed out on posting a new season-high in points and flirted with his second double-double. With the Spurs struggling for consistency and a run of form, this play from Aldridge is greatly needed. He will remain viable as long as he can continue this form.

Aldridge played 23 minutes in Wednesday's 121-99 loss to the Warriors, finishing with four points (2-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt), three rebounds and one block.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from Dejounte Murray (22 points, six rebounds) most of the Spurs' key rotation players had down performances in the blowout loss, but Aldridge has been prone to these types of duds all too often this season. The 35-year-old hasn't adapted well to the Spurs' more perimeter-oriented offense in 2020-21, averaging 13.5 points -- down from 18.9 in 2019-20 -- while converting at a 25 percent clip on 3.7 three-point attempts per contest. His defensive production has also nosedived, with his rebounds falling from 7.4 to 4.6 per game and his blocks dropping from 1.6 to 0.8. While Aldridge's lagging numbers to date may make him seem like a buy-low target, it's possible that age has simply caught up with him and this is the new level of production fantasy managers may have to accept.

Aldridge scored a team-high 22 points (10-17 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 24 minutes during Monday's 125-104 win over the Train Blazers.
EDGE Analysis
The Spurs didn't have much trouble downing a short-handed Blazers roster on the road, as Aldridge was one of four San Antonio players to score at least 20 points. The veteran big continues to struggle on the glass however, and Aldridge has produced five boards or less in five of his last seven games, averaging 15,4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 threes over that stretch.

Aldridge recorded 11 points (4-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist in 30 minutes during Thursday's 109-105 loss to the Rockets.
EDGE Analysis
Aldridge's two boards represented a season low. He's been awful from beyond the arc lately, hitting just 25.0 percent of his looks from deep across the past four games. The good news is that he's still seeing 30-plus minutes per game lately after starting the year off with minutes in the 20s.
