He couldn't get his shot to fall, but Lowry found plenty of ways to contribute as the Raptors started out their season at 2-0. He's gotten to the free throw line 16 times so far, sinking 13 of them, and it doesn't appear as though his new, svelter body shape has reduced his aggressiveness at all.

Through three preseason games he now has 91 points in 75 minutes, all on 68% shooting, including 11 for 17 from three. While it's important to emphasize this is just the preseason, Lowry notably lost some weight coming in to camp and appears to be playing in mid-season form already.

Lowry dropped 25 points (8-13 FG, 4-6 3PT, 5-6 FT) and six assists in a win over the Lakers on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Lowry missed the preseason opener with some groin soreness, so the 25-point performance is definitely a good sign. After posting career-highs across the board last year, Lowry should have the keys to the Raptors offense once again. After struggling earlier in his career, Lowry has really blossomed into a special player and he credits it to staying healthy. He'll need to do just that to live up to expectations this season.

Lowry did not play in Monday's preseason game against the Warriors due to some slight groin soreness, the Toronto Star reports.

He looked fine the night before against the Clippers, so this was likely just precautionary on the part of the Raptors. Lowry should be fine once the regular season begins.
