After the Raptors staked the Celtics to a 12-point lead in the first quarter, Lowry put the team on his back and carried them to a road win, picking Marcus Smart's pocket in the final minute and setting up DeMar DeRozan for a big slam dunk before icing the game with Toronto's final basket. Lowry's numbers are down a bit in the early going, but expect him to return to or even exceed last season's production before long.

He put up a few stats across the board, but it wasn't exactly an explosion of any kind. Lowry has yet to match the career numbers he put up last season, in the midst of a contract year. However, he should still build upon the numbers he's currently posting. If he can get close to the shooting numbers he put up last year he should be able to get things back on track.

Lowry scored 21 points(5-12 FG, 2-5 3P, 9-11 FT) with five assists and three rebounds in 33 minutes during Saturday's win over the Magic. He's shown no signs of a big contract hangover so far, and Lowry figures to be a very dependable option at point guard this season.

The point guard struggled with his shot, but otherwise had the kind of night Raptors fans got used to seeing last season. Lowry isn't the sort of player to coast now that he's signed a big contract, so as long as he can stay healthy Lowry should be plenty productive.

Lowry was held out of Sunday's practice to rest, TSN Sports reports. The Raptors want to make sure that Lowry will be fresh for the start of the regular season, so there's nothing concerning about him missing Sunday's practice. Looking ahead, the Raptors will start their season on Oct. 29 against the Hawks and Lowry will be a major component of their offensive attack.

Lowry played 31 minutes on Friday, scoring 18 points (6-12 FG, 2-6 3P, 4-5 FT) with six assists, five steals and three rebounds. There's no sign so far this preseason that Lowry is planning on taking it easy now that he's signed the first big free agent contract of his career. If the Raptors' point guard stays healthy, look for him to produce another excellent fantasy season.

The Raptors' starting backcourt of Lowry and DeMar DeRozan both look ready for the regular season to begin. Coming off a career season and with a fat new contract in his back pocket, Lowry will look to take his game, and the team, to the next level.

Lowry didn't take it easy after signing the first big free agent contract of his career this offseason, and has reported to training camp in great shape, the Toronto Sun reports. There were concerns in some circles that Lowry might go soft after cashing in, but the point guard laughed at the idea. "The worst thing is getting yourself out of shape and trying to get back in shape. Those people who thought I would do that, they're idiots. People that expected me to come back in shape, they're smart," he said. "Me, I like to work, I like to actually put work in, it's fun. I mean, this is my job." If he can stay healthy, Lowry figures to turn in another string performance as the leader of a resurgent young Raptors' roster.

Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Kyle Lowry has agreed to a four-year, $48 million contract to stay with the Toronto Raptors. This is a huge deal for the Raptors and also could mean that Jeremy Lin could stay with the Rockets if they don't land Carmelo Anthony. Lowry had a nice bounce-back season last year and if he can stay healthy, qualifies as an elite NBA point guard. Lowry will have the option to opt out of the fourth and final year of the deal.
