Kuzma is enjoying an excellent start to the season and the numbers back that up, as he has led the Wizards in scoring in three of their four games while surpassing the 20-point mark in all but one game as well. He seems to be finally coming into his own, and while some regression is expected as the season progresses, there's no question he has the hottest hand on the Washington roster right now. Through four games, Kuzma has averaged 21.0 points per game.

EDGE Analysis

Perhaps surprisingly, Kuzma has led the Wizards in scoring in the first two games of the campaign and has looked excellent while also showing decent levels of efficiency. It's only been two games and that's a small sample size to draw any long-term conclusions, but the fact that he's averaging 24.0 points per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three-point range are encouraging figures.

Kuzma finished with 22 points (8-19 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 34 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Pacers.

EDGE Analysis

Kuzma grabbed four rebounds in the first quarter while also knocking down three of five shots from the field, including two three-pointers off assists from Bradley Beal. The Wizards' small forward added another 11 points in the second half on 5-of-11 shooting while also flashing his defensive skills with two blocks and five fourth-quarter rebounds. Kuzma and Beal will look to lead the Wizards to their second consecutive win to open the season during Friday's home tilt against the Bulls.

Kuzma recorded seven points (3-12 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three blocks and an assist across 29 minutes in Friday's 105-89 preseason loss against the Knicks.

Kuzma had an abysmal showing in the preseason finale, something that was even more noticeable after Rui Hachimura ended with 20 points off the bench. Kuzma is expected to open the season as the starting power forward for the Wizards, but don't be surprised if he gets moved to a bench role midway through the campaign if the struggles continue.

Barring unforeseen roster changes, Kuzma figures to remain in the starting five next season, though his usage could decline with a healthy Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis in the fold.
