Despite the solid scoring night and respectable supporting production, Anderson's fantasy value has been trending down as the Grizzlies have gotten some of their key guards and wings back to full health. Anderson's minutes and usage could be squeezed more once Jonas Valanciunas is cleared to return from the COVID-19 health and safety protocol, perhaps ahead of Thursday's game against the Rockets.

Anderson was a solid two-way performer on Saturday, with a nice shooting performance and three steals on the defensive end. His totals would have likely been higher had the team not created a huge deficit for the Spurs to overcome, but Anderson still fared well with only 21 minutes of court time.

Anderson's nine assists matched a season high as he flirted with a triple-double while the team picked up its second-consecutive win. The 27-year-old forward is having the best season of his career by far while the team is hampered by injuries to its two best players Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson. Anderson has been hit-or-miss so far this season, as he has registered four games of 18 or more points and four games with 10 or fewer. He has put up back-to-back outings of the latter variety, and considering his career PPG is just 5.6, it seems safe to bet that will be the trend going forward.

The forward led the Grizzlies for the second time this season despite not finding a rhythm from behind the arc. Anderson is averaging his most points per game of his career, outscoring his next highest mark by 8.6 points per game. This should be taken with a grain of salt, however, since this has come largely in part to the absences of franchise pieces Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson. Regardless of the reason for the 27-year-old's scoring emergence, the recent output still makes Anderson a good pick up, at least until their respective returns.

Anderson posted 18 points (7-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block across 29 minutes in Friday's win over the Hornets.

Anderson has struggled in terms of consistency, but he has found a way to score at least 18 points in three of his first five games while also recording 10 or more rebounds thrice in that span as well. It's still early in the season, but all signs show Anderson is in line for a career year while holding a steady role in the Grizzlies' starting lineup.

Anderson helped seal the deal for Memphis in overtime after going 3-for-4 from the line at the end of the extra period, gathering his own rebound after his lone miss. This is the first instance in Anderson's career in which he's scored 20 or more points in back-to-back outings while playing over 30 minutes in each of those games. The 27-year-old averaged 5.9 points in 20.0 minutes per game last season and with Ja Morant likely missing some games after an ankle injury Monday, the small forward proved he could be a legitimate scoring option as his workload increases early this season.

Through two games, Anderson is averaging 13.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 threes and 1.0 blocks in 32.5 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

With Jaren Jackson (knee) out to begin the year, Anderson has seen a significant boost in role and has seen the second-most minutes on the Grizzlies. While his rebounding may not be sustainable, he's shown an ability to fill the box score before. Notably, in 2018-19 with the Grizzlies, Anderson saw 29.8 minutes per game and ranked 90th in eight-category fantasy leagues on a per-game basis. His role will presumably be reduced once Jackson returns, though when that will be is unclear. For now, he's certainly worth a spot in standard leagues.
