With Brooklyn, the small forward will likely see a reserve role if he is able to make the active roster. Gates will fill the Nets' 20th training camp spot.

Gates posted 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-8 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and a block across 30 minutes in Thursday's loss against Fort Wayne.

Gates made most of his damage from three-point range and recorded his second-best long-distance shooting performance after he drained seven treys earlier this month. Gates has scored in double digits just four times this season, however, and he has struggled in terms of consistency. That translates to limited upside across most formats.

Gates recorded 22 points (7-11 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds, an assist and a steal across 28 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's win over Westchester.

Gates drained a season-high seven treys in Wednesday's victory, but he's never been much of a shooter and is hitting just 38.5 percent of his long-range attempts this season. Despite his bench role, Gates has been solid for Long Island thus far and is averaging 12.4 points per contest.

Gates notched 10 points (3-10 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two steals and an assist across 29 minutes off the bench in Monday's loss against Erie.

Gates made most of his damage from three-point range, but he was unable to shoot at a decent clip since he only converted two of his nine three-point attempts. Gates has scored at least eight points off the bench in every game thus far, but he's been struggling with his shot and needs to score with more accuracy to experience a bump in his upside.

Gates had 15 points (6-15 Fg, 3-12 3Pt, 0-2 FT) and 10 boards in Sunday's loss to Windy City.

Gates was Maine's workhorse during this thrilling OT win, by far playing the most minutes of any Red Claw. The 6-foot-7 wing has now scored in double digits in 11 of Maine's last 13 games. His ability to both snag rebounds and drain three-pointers is earning him major minutes in the Red Claw rotation.

Gates, Yante Maten and Tacko Fall helped the Claws dominate the glass, as they out rebounded the Stars 48-38. Next, Maine hopes to keep the winning streak alive Friday at Long Island.

Gates generated 24 points (8-16 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one blocked shot in Thursday's 120-118 home triple OT win over the Go-Go.

Gates hit the game-winning up-and-under layup in triple overtime to snag victory for the Red Claws. The forward started and saw 39 minutes of run. He was one of Maine's few efficient shooters on an evening when the Claws decided to hoist 56 shots from behind the arc. Crustacean Nation now heads to Grand Rapids for Saturday's matchup with the Drive.

Gates produced 21 points (8-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 boards, four assists, two steals and one block in Sunday's 108-103 win in Grand Rapids.

Gates led the team in minutes played (38) despite the current Red Claw roster having two two-way contract players (Waters and Fall) and two Celtic assignees (Langford and Edwards). That said, Tacko Fall (knee) might not yet be 100 percent and the Claws needed rebounding help from Gates and Yante Maten (13 boards). The Claws now travel to Las Vegas for Thursday's Winter Showcase showdown with the Charge.
