Holiday underwent surgery Tuesday to repair his core muscle injury and is expected to resume basketball activities in six weeks.

EDGE Analysis

Holiday has been sidelined for almost three weeks with an abdominal strain, and with the Pelicans' season essentially over and his absence giving the team the ability to look at some of its younger frontcourt players, Holiday will officially be shut down. Expect Holiday to be back to 100 percent for the start of training camp next season as he and the Pelicans enter an era that likely will be without Anthony Davis.

Holiday (abdomen) will remain out for Tuesday's game against the Hawks.

EDGE Analysis

No surprise here, as the Pelicans are yet to offer much in the way of a progress update on Holiday, who will miss his ninth consecutive contest with an abdominal strain. Expect Frank Jackson to continue to hold onto a significantly larger role so long as Holiday remains out.

Holiday (abdomen) will remain out Wednesday against the Magic.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran will miss a seventh consecutive game as he continues to nurse a strained lower abdominal. Expect Elfrid Payton, who's been a triple-double machine of late, to continue serve as the Pels' primary playmaker.

Holiday has been diagnosed with a lower abdominal strain and will be re-evaluated in 7-to-10 days, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

Holiday played 32 minutes in Wednesday's loss to Utah, but he emerged with an abdominal injury, and an MRI on Thursday revealed the strain. Given the timetable, Holiday will miss at least four games, meaning second-year guard Frank Jackson will likely be thrust into a larger role. Holiday had been averaging 22.6 points, 6.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds over his last 10 games.

Holiday scored 30 points (12-23 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding four assists, two rebounds and a steal in 32 minutes during Monday's 115-112 win over the Jazz.

EDGE Analysis

With Anthony Davis getting limited court time these days, Holiday has taken over as the Pelicans' top scoring option, dropping at least 20 points in six of the last eight games and averaging 24.3 points, 6.6 assists, 4.6 boards, 2.9 three-pointers and 1.9 steals over that stretch. The 28-year-old was already on pace for a career year, but Holiday's production could find another gear over the final weeks of the season.

Holiday totaled 29 points (10-23 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five assists, three rebounds, three steals, and one block in 35 minutes during Saturday's 120-112 victory over the Nuggets.

EDGE Analysis

Holiday carried more of the offensive load Saturday with Anthony Davis sitting out for rest purposes. Holiday has been fantastic since the break, scoring at least 20 points in four of his last five games. His steal rate has been excellent as has his perimeter scoring. His minutes don't appear to have been reduced all too much despite what the coaching staff has been saying, leaving him as a comfortable top-30 player.

Holiday had 21 points (9-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), nine assists, five rebounds, and two steals in 31 minutes during Friday's 130-116 win over the Suns.

EDGE Analysis

Holiday continues to carry the club both offensively and defensively, though he did struggle with turnovers (six) in this one. While the team has stated its intent to limit Holiday's minutes going forward this season, the high-octane offensive attack facilitates his ability to produce fantasy-friendly stats.

Holiday finished with 19 points (8-19 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 assists, and seven rebounds in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 125-119 loss to the Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

Holiday contributed 19 points and 10 assists Wednesday, continuing to play big minutes despite comments to the contrary by head coach Alvin Gentry only one week ago. Since word came out the Pelicans were going to limit both he and Anthony Davis, Holiday has played at least 33 minutes in three of four games. Owners have to hope the comments were merely a mirage to take the focus off the Anthony Davis situation, and that Holiday continues to see his regular allotment of playing time moving forward.
