Smith will move to the bench for Monday's game against the Wizards, Brad Turner of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith got the start in place of Blake Griffin (quad) on Saturday against Utah, but he'll shift to the bench Monday, as coach Doc Rivers inserts Paul Pierce at power forward. Curiously, Smith played only five minutes Saturday, and he's played just 11 combined minutes over the last four games, which has included a pair of DNP-CDs.

Smith will get the start at power forward Saturday against the Jazz.
EDGE Analysis
Blake Griffin (quad) will be out at least two weeks, and Smith will get the first crack at taking over the bulk of the minutes at power forward. While Smith had fallen out of the rotation of late, that had a lot to do with him being a redundant piece with Griffin healthy. He makes for an excellent play in daily league until his price adjusts.

Smith (coach's decision) didn't see the court in Monday's 100-99 loss to the Thunder.
EDGE Analysis
Even though the game was tightly contested throughout, Smith has typically found himself in the rotation under such circumstances, but coach Doc Rivers opted to go in a different direction Monday. The writing was on the wall after Smith saw just six minutes in the Clippers' previous game against the Rockets on Saturday, but he dropped off the grid entirely Monday, with Rivers turning to Cole Aldrich (14 minutes) for frontcourt assistance. Aldrich fared well in the outing, so it's possible he could continue to rank ahead of Smith in the pecking order over the next few contests.

Smith contributed a season-high 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT), four rebounds, and two steals in 18 minutes during Wednesday's 103-90 win over the Bucks.
EDGE Analysis
Smith saw a little increased run with DeAndre Jordan ejected from the game midway through the third quarter, but he owes his scoring night almost entirely to his uncharacteristic success from downtown. The trio of three-pointers was more than Smith had made in the previous four games combined, and the accuracy was even more eyebrow-raising for the 30-year-old, who is a 28.7 career three-point shooter. In other words, consider this an aberration for Smith, who will continue to see less than 20 minutes per game while both Blake Griffin and Jordan are healthy.

Smith contributed eight points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds, and three blocks over 15 minutes in Monday's 110-106 win over the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
Smith ranks as the Clippers' primary backup in the frontcourt to DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin, but because both of those players typically occupy huge blocks of playing time, Smith has been relegated to a 15-to-20-minute role for much of the season. He's been able to provide sound production on the boards (4.2 per game) and as a shot blocker (1.3), but as has been the case for much of his career, Smith's shooting remains an eyesore. He's converting on just 39.8 percent of his attempts from the field this season.

Smith pitched in with five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists and a block over 22 minutes in Friday's 111-90 victory over the Pelicans.
EDGE Analysis
Smith received a season-high 22 minutes of playing time in the blowout and utilized the extra opportunity wisely, managing double-digit boards for the first time all season against a Pelicans frontcourt that was missing Anthony Davis (knee contusion) in the second half. The veteran has consistently received minutes in the teens all season, and has generally filled out the stat sheet with solid rebound numbers even when he's only been able to generate paltry scoring totals.

Smith has secured his role as one of the Clippers' top options off of the bench, averaging 5.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 14.5 minutes so far this season.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has consistently been getting 10 to 20 minutes off of the bench for the Clippers, and he has been converting those minutes into pretty solid production. Unfortunately for fantasy owners it hasn't been eye-popping production, but that is to be expected when you sit behind one of the league's premiere power forwards in Blake Griffin.

Smith scored seven points (2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), grabbed five rebounds, and added three assists and a block Monday in a win against the Suns.
EDGE Analysis
Smith put up decent numbers despite playing fewer minutes than fellow small forwards Lance Stephenson and Paul Pierce. That being said, Smith hasn't exactly been sharp to start the season. In four games, he's only averaging 3.8 PPG thanks to a rough 25.0 FG% and 50.0 FT%

Smith tallied 13 points (5-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in a 130-95 win over Golden State on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear exactly what Smith's role will be on this tea, but he has no problem stuffing stat sheets in whatever role he does end up playing. Most fans aren't a huge fan of Smith's game, but he provides very good counting numbers in limited minutes and can be an asset to fantasy owners in the right situations. It will be tough for him to carve out a significant role in Los Angeles, but he could be a nice play in daily if a big man is injured or rested.

Smith will log "a lot" of time at center this season, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Doc Rivers revealed the news Monday, but the Clippers' reserve minutes at center behind DeAndre Jordan will likely be a patch-work effort rather than one player dominating the workload. Still, the development opens up another spot for Smith to pick up run with his third squad in as many seasons. If he's used in a super-utility role at the three, four, and five, he could match the 26 minutes per game that he earned with the Rockets in 2014-15.
