Richardson will see time as the Sixers' backup point guard Sunday against Orlando, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson will start at his usual shooting guard spot, but the team will also try him out as a point guard, a position at which he spent time in Miami last season. The Sixers are light on guard -- and depth, in general -- and they'd likely prefer to keep the ball in Richardson's hands, as opposed to Shake Milton's or Trey Burke's, when Ben Simmons is off the floor.

Richardson poured in 18 points (7-14 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-3 FT) and added four assists, two rebounds, three blocks and one steal across 25 minutes during the 76ers' 100-87 preseason win over the Hornets on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson finished with a team-high scoring tally in the victory and made impressive contributions on defense as well. The offseason addition will assume starting shooting guard duties in Philadelphia after generating a career-best 16.6 points, 4.1 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 made threes per game with the Heat last season, but he'll be looking to improve on an inefficient 41.2 percent success rate from the floor.

Richardson collected 16 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists and two steals over 22 minutes Tuesday against the Guangzhou Long-Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson looked sharp from beyond the arc in this one, converting on three of five attempts on the way to a 144-86 victory. After being sent to Philadelphia in the Jimmy Butler deal at the end of June, Richardson is on track to open the regular season as a starter.

Richardson was shipped to the 76ers on Sunday in the Heat's sign-and-trade deal for Jimmy Butler, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson, who is entering his fifth season in the league, is coming off a career year. With Goran Dragic sitting out a large chunk of the 2018-19 campaign, ballhandling responsibilities were given to Richardson. He responded with 16.6 points, 4.1 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. In joining the reloaded Sixers, Richardson's usage could see a downtick, as he will probably end up being the third or fourth offensive option. Still, Richardson's size multi-position versatility should keep him on the court for long stretches of time, and he should continue getting better.

Richardson (groin) is listed as out for Wednesday's season finale against the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Even if the Heat were still in the hunt for a playoff spot heading into Wednesday, Richardson would have been a long shot to suit up after it was estimated he would require at least two weeks of healing time when he strained his hip earlier this month. The team's elimination from the postseason makes it an easy choice for the Heat to shutter Richardson for what has been a somewhat frustrating season. While he wraps up the campaign with career-best averages in points (16.6 per game), assists (4.1), rebounds (3.6) and three-pointers (2.2), Richardson saw his efficiency from the field take a major hit and while also experiencing a downturn in his steal and block rate.

An MRI on Richardson's groin revealed no structural damage, but he could miss up to two weeks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson was back in the starting lineup Wednesday against Boston after missing the previous game, but he departed after only 16 minutes of action and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game. While the versatile wing looks to have avoided a serious injury, it couldn't come at a worse time for Miami, which enters Thursday on the wrong end of a tie with Orlando for the final playoff spot in the East. With only four games to play, it's unlikely Richardson will be back on the floor before the end of the regular season, though if the Heat are able to make the playoffs, he could make his return early in Round 1.

Richardson will not return to Wednesday's game against the Celtics after leaving with a left leg injury.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of the injury is unknown at this time, with more information likely to come out following Wednesday's action. For now, he should be considered questionable for Friday's game against the Timberwolves. If he is forced to miss more time, Rodney McGruder and Dwyane Wade could see larger roles.

Richardson (heel) will play Wednesday against the Celtics, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson has missed the past three games due to a bruised left heel, but he'll make his return Wednesday. He'll presumably re-join the starting five.

Richardson (heel) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup versus the Celtics, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
There was concern that Richardson, who has been dealing with a left bruised heel for the past week, would miss at least the remainder of the regular season, so appearing on the injury report as questionable is a good sign of a possible return. With the Heat battling for a playoff spot over the course of the next five games, the team may elect to rush Richardson back as soon as possible; Richardson will likely be a game-time decision Wednesday.

Coach Eric Spoelstra said Saturday that Richardson (heel) is without a timeline for a return, though the Heat doesn't believe the 25-year-old's injury is a season-ending issue, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Richardson missed only his second game of the season in Thursday's win over the Mavericks, and the Heat have already ruled him out for the two-game road swing through New York and Boston that begins Saturday. That leaves Wednesday's home game against the Celtics as the earliest date for Richardson's return, but Spoelstra's comments suggest the swingman likely won't be ready to go by then. With just two weeks left in the season, fantasy managers may be better off cutting bait with Richardson in pursuit of a healthier option.
