Gray returned to the G League on Wednesday since the Pelicans returned two of their injured players. He was incredibly effective as he led the Bayhawks in points and minutes. The 26-year-old could return to the Pelicans if they face any more injuries.

New Orleans returned two of its eight injured players to action in Tuesday's 115-104 win over the Trail Blazers, lessening the need for the team to keep both of its two-way players -- Gray and Zylan Cheatham -- up with the parent club. During his stint with the NBA team, Gray cracked the rotation in two games, logging 22 minutes in total and accruing more turnovers (five) than any other statistic.

Gray notched a game-best 28 points to go along with six rebounds, six assists and one steal in Friday's opener against the Skyhawks.

Gray also turned the ball over five times, but his positives far outweigh his negatives in what should be a big season when he's on the G League roster. His 20 shot attempts are also a sign that he's unafraid to pull the trigger.

Gray is yet to see any action for the Pelicans after signing a two-way contract earlier in the year.
