Brunson may not travel with the Knicks during their upcoming five-game home trip, and with Anunoby now dealing with an injury, Clarkson and Landry Shamet are set to be thrust into larger roles on both ends of the floor.

Clarkson has been one of New York's most prominent figures off the bench, averaging 8.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 threes made. While he doesn't provide much value elsewhere, he can certainly score if given the opportunity, but his role among the offense is too inconsistent to warrant a roster spot in most leagues.

Clarkson suited up for his new squad for the first time during the team's preseason opener overseas. The one-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year will likely play a significant role off the bench for New York, as he could become Mike Brown's go-to guy in the second unit when it comes to scoring.

The Jazz decided to waive Clarkson, but the veteran guard didn't have problems finding a new home for the 2025-26 season. He should add some much-needed depth in the backcourt for the Knicks, and Clarkson should see consistent minutes off the bench, either as a point guard or as a shooting guard.
