A second-round pick by the Bucks in 2014, O'Bryant returns to the organization with which he spent the first two seasons of his NBA career. The LSU product also spent time in Denver and Charlotte before playing overseas from 2018-19 through 2020-21. The deal is non-guaranteed, so O'Bryant will have to impress during training camp to make the Bucks' final roster.

In a relatively unexpected move, the Knicks have waived the player they received in the deal that sent Willy Hernangomez to the Hornets, as it appears they were really just after the pair of second-round picks that arrived as well. O'Bryant could certainly latch on with another team this season, though likely not in a fantasy-relevant role, as he's averaged just 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds across 10.5 minutes per game this season.

O'Bryant saw some spot time with Charlotte this season, averaging 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds across 10.5 minutes per game in 36 appearances. Kristaps Porzingis (knee) going down for the season could open up more time for O'Bryant in New York than he saw in Charlotte, though the team has shown to have a relatively established frontcourt rotation of Michael Beasley, Lance Thomas, Doug McDermott, Kyle O'Quinn and Enes Kanter. Overall, this deal likely won't move the needle much for O'Bryant this year.

O'Bryant tallied 16 points (7-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt) two rebounds and one assist across 19 minutes in Tuesday's 131-111 win over the Kings.

EDGE Analysis

The fourth-year forward parlayed his bump in playing time into a season-high point total. O'Bryant's minutes are often in the single digits, but he tends to remain active when on the court; factoring in Tuesday's contest, he's put up at between six and 15 shot attempts in seven of the last 13 contests, despite seeing no more than 21 minutes in any of those games.

O'Bryant collected nine points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 16 minutes during Monday's 109-91 win over the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

O'Bryant matched career highs in assists and threes, and filled in well as the primary backup center behind Dwight Howard. O'Bryant's size and strength make him a decent bet to receive most of Howard's leftover minutes while Cody Zeller (knee) is sidelined for the next several weeks, as offensive-minded backup big Frank Kaminsky spent the vast majority of his time at power forward and the Hornets snapped a three-game losing streak.

O'Bryant is not listed on the injury report for Monday's game against the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

O'Bryant had to leave Saturday's game against the Trail Blazers for an undisclosed reason, but the issue was clearly minor and he'll be in the lineup as usual Monday. With Cody Zeller (knee) out for the foreseeable future, O'Bryant has joined the frontcourt rotation, but has still only averaged 8.7 minutes over the last six games. He can be avoided for fantasy purposes.

O'Bryant will not play in the second half of Saturday's game against the Trail Blazers due to personal reasons.

EDGE Analysis

O'Bryant will finish the night with five points (2-3 FG), four rebounds and a steal across eight minutes. It's unclear if he will be forced to miss any additional time beyond Saturday, but more should be known when the Hornets release more about his situation.

O'Bryant collected 14 points (4-7 FG, 6-6 FT), four rebounds and one block across 14 minutes during Monday's 103-94 loss to the Bucks.

EDGE Analysis

O'Bryant has been seeing backup center minutes behind Dwight Howard with Cody Zeller (knee) out. He's been playing relatively well in limited minutes as well, totaling 20 points and 10 rebounds across 28 minutes over the past two games. He still makes for a risky play in every fantasy format, however, considering his lack of workload.

O'Bryant is expected to serve as the backup center Friday against Atlanta.

EDGE Analysis

With Cody Zeller (knee) ruled out Friday, O'Bryant should see a slight bump in minutes as the primary backup to Dwight Howard. Frank Kaminsky will also likely see some time at the five, though it's also possible O'Bryant, a former second-round pick by Milwaukee, could slide down to power forward. Regardless, O'Bryant remains a relatively low-upside commodity in DFS contests.
