Wall has tested negative for COVID-19, but he was among the Rockets sent home from the team facility ahead of Wednesday's game against the Thunder due to a teammate's positive test, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ben McLemore remains away from the Rockets after testing positive for COVID-19 days earlier, but he's not the teammate in question who has resulted in multiple Houston players being isolated from the team. Among that group of players, Wall and DeMarcus Cousins have been revealed to have tested negative, but the statuses of both for Wednesday's game remain undetermined. At the very least, Wall -- should he continue to test negative -- doesn't look like he'll be in store for an extended absence.

Wall is among the Rockets players expected to miss Wednesday's opener against the Thunder due to COVID-19 contact tracing, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The details are still very much unclear, but Charania listed Wall and Cousins as two players who are unlikely to be available Wednesday night. It's possible that the contract tracing stems from the league's investigation into James Harden allegedly breaking COVID protocols earlier in the week. In the event both Harden and Wall -- and potentially others -- are held out, the Rockets would be left shorthanded in the backcourt, particularly at point guard.

Wall, along with DeMarcus Cousins, is sitting out Thursday's preseason finale against the Spurs for rest, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wall has played in all three Rockets preseason games so far, seeing 22.9 minutes per game and averaging 16.3 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals. He'll sit out Thursday's action and will be fresh for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Thunder.

Wall registered 21 points (7-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four assists and two rebounds over 24 minutes during Sunday's 104-91 loss against the Bulls.
EDGE Analysis
Wall struggled with his shot a bit and needed 17 attempts to reach a team-high 21 points, but those numbers aren't what matters the most with Wall right now. The speedy point guard has looked healthy and in full command of the offense, which is a great thing to see considering he spent nearly two years without playing due to injuries. He should continue to ramp up minutes before the start of the regular season, but the veteran floor general is clearly trending in the right direction following his first two preseason appearances.

Wall posted 13 points (6-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), nine assists, five rebounds and two steals across 19 minutes in Friday's 125-104 win over the Bulls.
EDGE Analysis
This was Wall's first game in over two years, and the veteran point guard looked impressive -- he ended just one assist shy of a double-double despite playing limited minutes. While preseason stats do not count as a reliable benchmark for potential regular-season production, the fact that Wall looked healthy and in complete command of the offense in an encouraging sign for Houston, and that could translate into solid fantasy production across all formats.

Coach Stephen Silas said Monday that Wall has played well in the team's first practices, James Herbert of CBS Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Silas did acknowledge Wall was "a little rusty," he praised the veteran guard for his play during Monday's scrimmage. "He's looked really, really good," Silas said. "Pushing the ball up the floor, getting everybody organized, as a point guard does. Hitting guys on time, on target on passes." Considering Wall hasn't played in an NBA game in nearly two years, Silas' comments have to viewed with an encouraging light. Fantasy-wise, Wall remains a risky investment, but he should have plenty of opportunity in Houston -- particularly if the James Harden saga drags into the regular season.

Wall said Sunday that he has been at '100 percent since March,' Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wall, who hasn't appeared in an NBA game since the 2018-19 season, said he is feeling completely healthy to open the 2020-21 campaign. The 30-year-old point guard said he played pickup with the Washington G League squad to help prepare himself to get back to NBA action. During his last partial season in the league, Wall averaged 20.7 points, 8.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 threes and 1.5 steals per game. If he remains healthy, Wall could be in line for a resurgent season with the Rockets.

Wall was traded to the Rockets on Wednesday, along with a protected future first-round pick, in exchange for Russell Westbrook, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rumors of this deal had been floated around last month, but there was no indication that the two sides were close to agreeing to a trade. In Wall, the Rockets get a player with an All-Star pedigree, but one who missed all of last season while recovering from a torn Achilles. Wall hasn't played in an NBA game since December of 2018, but all indications are that he'll be available for the start of the 2020-21 season. For Houston, Wall will fill the starting point guard spot vacated by Westbrook and become the latest star guard to team with James Harden. Fantasy-wise, the trade should not have a major effect on his fantasy value, though Harden is a more ball-dominant backcourt partner than Bradley Beal.

The Wizards are expected to be cautious with Wall's workload this season as he returns from a torn Achilles, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Scott Brooks said Tuesday that the pandemic has enabled Wall even more time to recover, but he noted that the Wizards will "take it slow" with Wall, who hasn't played in an NBA game since December of 2018. All indications are that Wall is healthy and moving well, but Brooks said the team will likely hold the point guard out of some back-to-back sets, which is to be expected -- especially given the league's condensed schedule.

Wizards general manager Tommy Sheppard said Monday that the team isn't looking to trade Wall (Achilles) ahead of the 2020-21 season, Chris Miller of NBC Sports Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though the point guard made it known last week that he would like to be traded, the Wizards likely won't have an easy time finding many takers, given Wall's onerous contract along with the fact that he has yet to play a game since December 2018 after requiring two surgeries on his left Achilles' tendon. Per Mark Stein of The New York Times, those who have observed Wall's workouts in Los Angeles recently have been impressed with how he looks physically, but Sheppard noted Monday that the Wizards will still exercise caution with the 30-year-old. According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com, Sheppard reiterated Monday that Wall will sit out one half of back-to-back sets this season, and he'll also play a lower volume of minutes in 2020-21 compared to past years.
