Due to New Orleans dealing with a laundry list of injuries to end the 2024-25 season, Cain has begun to receive increased playing time. The 26-year-old forward recorded season highs in points (25) and minutes played (35) in Friday's blowout loss. For the first time this season, Cain has scored double-digit points in three straight outings.

Cain recorded 20 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes during Thursday's 136-111 loss to the Bucks.

EDGE Analysis

Cain erupted for a career-high 20 points in the loss, stepping up for a New Orleans team that was extremely shorthanded. The Pelicans could get some reinforcements back for the second leg of this back-to-back set, but Cain may have earned himself a longer look in the rotation in the final two games of the regular season.

Cain logged 15 points (7-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), three rebounds and two steals over 16 minutes during Tuesday's 119-114 loss to the Nets.

Cain emerged off the bench to provide instant offense, turning in 15 points in just 16 minutes of action. The 26-year-old has averaged 10.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.0 three-pointers in 21.5 minutes across his past four games, and Cain could continue playing meaningful minutes from the second unit to close out a losing season for the Pelicans.

Cain amassed 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and four steals across 27 minutes during Friday's 124-108 loss to the Lakers.

EDGE Analysis

During his tenure with the Pelicans, Cain has been a non-factor, but he's one of a few developmental players who may see an extended run in the final week. After not catching on with the Heat, he's appeared in 32 games for New Orleans this season.

Cain ended with five points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across eight minutes during Saturday's 146-117 loss to the Rockets.

EDGE Analysis

Cain saw minutes for just the fourth time in the past 11 games, saddling up for eight minutes of garbage time. The Pelicans are focused on nothing but lottery balls, meaning Cain, along with a few others, could at least play a role down the stretch. With that said, it is unlikely to yield consistent production.

EDGE Analysis

Cain missed the Pelicans' final two games before the All-Star break due to an illness, but he was cleared to play when the team opened its second-half schedule Feb. 21 in Dallas. However, Cain didn't crack the rotation in that game or any of the Pelicans' subsequent two games before getting a chance to pick up some minutes Thursday. The Pelicans were without one of their key wings in Bruce Brown (rest), but with Brown expected back for the second leg of a back-to-back set Friday in Phoenix, Cain could move back out of the rotation.

Cain (illness) is not on the injury report for Friday's game against the Mavericks.

EDGE Analysis

Cain is set to return following a two-game absence due to an illness. However, he hasn't been a regular member of the rotation even when healthy. The three-year forward has been limited to only 21 appearances off the bench this season while averaging 12.3 minutes per game, so his fantasy value is close to minimal.
