David Stern said the Spurs will face "substantial sanctions" for resting their players on Thursday.
"I apologize to all NBA fans. This was an unacceptable decision by the Spurs. Substantial sanctions will be forthcoming," David Stern said. It's fair to say that there wouldn't be such an outrage had the game not been nationally televised. "Substantial sanctions" might be this year's "basketball reasons" for Stern. Stay tuned for how the NBA fines the Spurs for managing their team.
Do you guys realize the ages of their Veterans. How in the world can you expect them to compete for a title if they are not rested, hell they are probably still gassed from David Sterns bull2#$%^ schedule from last season.
Whether it was Thursday, Sunday whenever let em rest, if you are that worried about losing a few bucks don't go. And I'm sure Mr Stern has a nice resting home in the hills somewhere, maybe he can take a few of the guys in who can't walk or need joint replacements from playing so much. Let the owner decide for himself and then maybe he can throw an apology in not Stern!
