The Wizards opted not to re-sign Diallo after his 10-day contract expired Friday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rather than bringing Diallo back on another 10-day pact, the Wizards instead decided to add center Trey Jemison on a 10-day deal to fill the 15th and final spot on the roster. During his week-and-a-half-long stay with Washington, Diallo appeared in two games and averaged just 2.5 minutes. He'll most likely stick around in the organization and rejoin the G League's Capital City Go-Go, with whom he had been playing prior to signing with the NBA club.

Diallo was waived by the Wizards on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Diallo's time in Washington didn't last long, as he was signed to an Exhibit 10 deal earlier in the day. He'll either land with the Wizards' G League squad or look for work elsewhere with the 2023-24 season on the horizon.

Pistons head coach Dwane Casey acknowledged Tuesday that Diallo (ankle) likely won't be available to play again this season by the time he's re-evaluated in 3-to-4 weeks, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even if Diallo's Grade 2 right ankle sprain checks out better than expected when he gets re-examined in early April, the 15-51 Pistons don't have any incentive to rush him back on the court before their season comes to an end April 9. The 24-year-old Diallo will finish his fifth NBA season with averages of 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.9 steals in 17.8 minutes per game while shooting a career-high 57.3 percent from the field and a career-worst 58.8 percent from the free-throw line across 56 appearances. Diallo is scheduled to become a free agent this summer.

Diallo suffered a Grade-2 ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in 3-to-4 weeks, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Diallo departed early Monday and was initially ruled out for Tuesday's game, but an additional MRI revealed a more severe sprain. Depending on the length of his absence, Diallo may have played his final game of the 2022-23 season. If so, he'll end the year averaging 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists over 17.8 minutes per game and will head into the offseason slated for free agency.

Killian Hayes (hand) and Alec Burks (foot) are also out, leaving Cory Joseph, Rodney McGruder and R.J. Hampton as candidates for increased roles versus Washington.
