Monroe and the Suns have agreed to a contract buyout, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
This has been a long time coming between the two sides, as there were just too many able bodies in the Suns' frontcourt in comparison to available minutes. The Suns originally attempted to look for a trade partner, but couldn't find a willing suitor and will now release the big man. He'll be subject to waivers, but once cleared of those, Monroe should be an unrestricted free agent and able to sign with any team. This will certainly be a situation to monitor for season-long leagues, as Monroe could land in a favorable spot and become a consistent fantasy contributor.

Monroe is unavailable for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
EDGE Analysis
Monroe isn't even with the team for Wednesday's tilt, sparking rumors that a contract buyout could be coming in the near future for the big man. He's been solid when given playing time, averaging 11.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists across 23.2 minutes per game. Tyson Chandler and Marquese Chriss (ankle) are both candidates to see expanded roles with Monroe and Alex Len (ankle) both unavailable.

Monroe supplied 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 23 minutes during Monday's 120-109 loss to the Grizzlies.
EDGE Analysis
Monroe drew the start in place of Tyson Chandler (undisclosed), though backup big man Alex Len earned 25 minutes off the pine. Monroe has appeared in five straight games, this after appearing in just two of the previous 12 games (dating back to late December). Monroe has been solid when he's been part of the rotation, even in limited minutes, but fantasy owners should always be sure that he's slated to suit up before counting on him.

Monroe will start at center for Monday's game against the Grizzlies, Scott Bordow of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Suns are set to be without Tyson Chandler (undisclosed) on Monday, so Monroe will get the call with the top unit once again. Alex Len (ankle) has been cleared to play, but Marqueese Chriss (ankle) joins Chandler on the sidelines, so there should be plenty of minutes available for Monroe in the frontcourt. With a hefty workload in store, go ahead and get Monroe active for Monday's contest.

Monroe will shift back to a bench role for Sunday's game against the Rockets, Scott Bordow of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Monroe started Friday's game against the Knicks with Tyson Chandler out with an illness, posting seven points, 10 rebounds and one assist across 26 minutes. However, Chandler is back to full strength and will rejoin the starting five, which sends Monroe back to his typical bench role. That said, with fellow reserve center Alex Len (ankle) out, Monroe could still see a decent workload off the bench.

Monroe is a late addition to the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Knicks, Craig Grialou of ArizonaSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Suns confirmed Tyson Chandler as the starting center earlier in the evening, but ultimately changed their minds moments before tip-off. Monroe has been in and out of the rotation since arriving in Phoenix, but should have an opportunity for a healthy workload Friday.

Monroe scored 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-3 FT) while adding 17 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 29 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 116-101 loss to the Pacers.
EDGE Analysis
Tyson Chandler got into early foul trouble and played only 10 minutes, leaving plenty of court time for Monroe to collect his sixth double-double in 17 games as a member of the Suns. Alex Len (ankle) isn't expected to miss much time, however, so expect Monroe to head back to the end of the bench soon enough.

Monroe will come off the bench for Wednesday's contest against the Pacers, Scott Bordow of The Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Jay Triano opted to give Greg Monroe the start against the Bucks -- his former team -- Monday, deploying him 30 minutes. Prior to that, however, Monroe had appeared in just one of the Suns' past six games, totaling three minutes. So, while Monroe will be coming off the bench Wednesday, there's far from a guarantee he'll see the floor.

Monroe will start at center for Monday's game against the Bucks, Scott Bordow of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Monroe has been a DNP-CD in five of the last six games, but coach Jay Triano will change up his lineup in an effort to get Tyson Chandler some rest. In 11 previous starts this season, Monroe has averaged 11.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists across 24.0 minutes, so expect a significant increase in playing time considering his recent exclusion from the rotation. While the Suns haven't ruled out Chandler officially, there's a chance he doesn't see the floor at all. This will likely just be a one-game stint in the top unit for Monroe.

Monroe will likely return to a minimal role for Friday's game against the Spurs.
EDGE Analysis
The Suns' center rotation has been a mess since they acquired Monroe from Milwaukee in the Eric Bledsoe trade, and Monroe has essentially been relegated to inactive duty whenever Tyson Chandler is in the lineup, as will be the case Friday. Phoenix held Chandler out of Wednesday's game against Denver on the second night of a back-to-back, which freed up a spot int he starting lineup for Monroe. The veteran took advantage, playing 35 minutes and finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds. However, that performance came on the back of five straight DNP-CD's, and all signs point to Monroe once again sinking back to a minimal role Friday.
