The rookie first-round pick continues to be sharp from the field in his first NBA preseason, with Sunday's game marking his third in four exhibitions with a success rate of 50.0 percent or better. Allen has a pair of double-digit scoring efforts during that sample, and at least one three-pointer in each contest as well.

Allen accumulated 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 24 minutes during Friday's 129-99 win over the Adelaide 36ers.

Allen earned a team-high minute total and filled it up offensively for the second time in three preseason games. He has committed his fair share of turnovers and fouls thus far, but it's clear that coach Quin Snyder is prioritizing the rookie's development. It may be unlikely that Allen earns 20-plus minutes per night in the regular season like he has in the preseason. Still, with his combination of size, skill, and experience, it wouldn't be a total shocker if Allen ends up pushing veteran wing Alec Burks for reserve minutes.

Allen had just six points (2-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), and one steal in 19 minutes during Tuesday's 105-90 preseason victory over the Raptors.

After an impressive first-up outing, Allen was held in check Tuesday finishing with just six points. This was Allen's first game against an actual NBA squad and he found the going a little tougher. Allen is likely going to be in the rotation but his minutes could certainly fluctuate based on his shot from night-to-night. He is not going to be a standard league option but could work as a three-point streamer in some deeper formats.

Allen is expected to get some run at point guard during Tuesday's preseason game against the Raptors, Andy Larsen of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

The Jazz are dealing with a few injuries in the backcourt and are set to be without both Dante Exum (knee) and Raul Neto (hamstring). That will provide Allen an opportunity for an expanded workload and the expectation is that he'll act as the main facilitator at times during the contest. While it will be interesting to see how he performs in that role, Allen will likely be relegated to the wing once the team is back to full strength and the regular season arrives. It's worth it to note that Allen lit up the score sheet in the team's preseason opener against the Perth Wildcats, posting 19 points (7-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 22 minutes.

Allen will be rested for Thursday's summer league game against Orlando.

The first-round pick has fared well in Vegas, and he had 17 points in 24 minutes of action in Tuesday's matchup with the Heat. It's unclear if the Jazz plan to bring Allen back later in the week.

Allen made it a priority to become more aggressive offensively Tuesday, as the Jazz's first-round pick put up a team-high 17 shot attempts. While he connected on only 41.2 percent of those attempts and just 20 percent of his deep balls, Allen still finished with 17 points and added in some valuable cross-category production. The 22-year-old shooting guard has already been rested twice during summer league, so keep an eye on his status in the coming few days to make sure he's in the lineup.
