The NBA is still processing trades, and Allen won't be able to take the court for his new team quite yet. It's possible he'll suit up for Sunday's game.

Allen -- plus Kyle Korver and Jae Crowder, the 23rd pick in Thursday's Draft and a future first-round pick -- was traded to the Grizzlies on Wednesday in exchange for Mike Conley, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Allen went off for a career-high 40 points Wednesday, doing his best Donovan Mitchell impersonation in the process. He had career-best numbers across the board and anyone who streamed him in certainly got bang for their buck. Allen has a clear ability to score the ball but is unlikely to see this amount of playing time again anytime soon.

Allen will get the start for the season finale Wednesday against the Clippers, Andy Larsen of KSL.com reports.

Allen appears to be in for a heavy workload Wednesday as Utah has a total of eight rotation players out for rest purposes. The rookie's averaging 4.6 points and 0.6 assists in 10.2 minutes across 37 games this season.

Allen finished with 23 points (10-14 FG, 3-4 3Pt), two assists, one steal and one block across 26 minutes in the Jazz's win over the Kings on Friday.

Just two nights removed from a career-high 14 points scoring effort, Allen generated a new career high with 23 points in Friday's win. The Jazz blew out their opponent for the second night in a row, allowing Allen to see some extended action. With a matchup against the hapless Lakers on tap Sunday, don't be surprised to see Allen play at least 20 minutes if the Jazz take over early.

Allen pitched in 14 points (6-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt), three rebounds and one block across 19 minutes in the Jazz's 118-97 win over the Suns on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

The rookie saw extended playing time in the blowout victory, which he parlayed into a career-high scoring total. Allen hadn't seen more than 17 minutes since Jan. 30, as his role off the bench has typically been minimal. Wednesday's spike in opportunity thus appears to simply have been a product of circumstance, and he's likely to return to his abbreviated role as the season winds down.

Allen was recalled from the G League on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

With the Salt Lake City Stars' season over, Allen has been called up. In 12 starts with the Stars, he averaged 16.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30.3 minutes. He hasn't seen double-digit minutes with the Jazz since Feb. 28.

Allen was assigned to the G League's Salt Lake City Stars on Friday.

Just two days after being recalled back to Utah, Allen will be back with the Stars this weekend. He played eight minutes in the Jazz's blowout win over the Knicks on Wednesday, scoring six points on 2-of-3 shooting.
