VanVleet closed with one point (0-11 FG, 0-8 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Friday's 112-90 loss to the 76ers.
EDGE Analysis
VanVleet had one of the worst games of his career after missing each of his 11 shots and two of his three free throws, and he didn't do much in other categories to at least salvage the day. Fantasy managers shouldn't read too much into this game, though he's also reached the 20-point mark just once in the first six contests of the campaign -- a step in the wrong direction after averaging a career-best 20.3 points per game in 2021-22.

VanVleet accumulated 24 points (6-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four rebounds, nine assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Monday's 98-90 victory over Miami.
EDGE Analysis
VanVleet surpassed the 20-point mark for the first time this season and while the efficiency in terms of shooting is still not there, at least he continues to put up excellent numbers from behind the arc -- he's gone 12-for-24 from deep over his first four appearances of the campaign. Despite the early season struggles, VanVleet's role as one of Toronto's go-to players on offense shouldn't be under any sort of question.

VanVleet produced 18 points (7-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, nine assists, one block and four steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 109-105 loss to the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
The point guard came through with a big night, and the Toronto duo of VanVleet and Pascal Siakam arguably outplayed Brooklyn's superstar pairing of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but the rest of the Nets' roster provided more support. VanVleet has been particularly active as a defender to kick off the campaign, racking up four steals in each of the Raptors' first two games.

VanVleet recorded 15 points (4-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, five assists and four steals over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 108-105 victory over the Cavaliers.
EDGE Analysis
All five Toronto starters scored at least 15 points while four of them recorded multiple steals, but it was VanVleet who led the charge on defense with a team-high four pilfers. The point guard got a scare at the end of the first quarter, going down after taking an inadvertent elbow to the side of the face from Evan Mobley, but he wound up not missing any time. Expect VanVleet to lead another balanced Raptors attack Friday against the Nets.

VanVleet produced 13 points (4-14 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, an assist and five steals in 24 minutes in a 115-98 loss to Chicago on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
VanVleet had an excellent first quarter, making three of his five shots and scoring 10 points. He went ice cold after that, going just 1-for-9 from the field while only shooting three-pointers. The 28-year-old has made just 30 percent of his shots and 25 percent of his three-point attempts in his three preseason games.

VanVleet isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's preseason game against the Bulls, Eric Smith of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
VanVleet was sidelined for Friday's exhibition contest due to rest, but it appears he'll be back in action Sunday. However, it's possible the Raptors opt to keep the star point guard under a minutes restriction to keep him fresh for the start of the regular season.

VanVleet (rest) will miss Friday's exhibition against the Rockets, Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
VanVleet will get a night off after appearing in each of the first two preseason games. The Raptors face off with the Bulls on Sunday, likely with VanVleet running the point.

VanVleet (hip/knee) told reporters Friday that he believes his lingering injuries from the season will be resolved "fairly quickly" with some rest and treatment, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
VanVleet suffered a bruised knee just before the All-Star break and injured his hip during Game 4 of the opening-round matchup with the 76ers, which ultimately sidelined him for the Raptors' final two games of the 2021-22 campaign. However, according to the point guard, neither injury is expected to limit his summer in any way, suggesting he won't need offseason surgery. VanVleet finished his sixth season in the NBA with averages of 20.3 points, 6.7 assists and 4.4 rebounds in 37.9 minutes per game -- all career highs.

VanVleet (hip) has been ruled out of Thursday's Game 6 against the 76ers, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
VanVleet was doubtful coming in, so there was never much belief that he'd be able to suit up as the Raptors look to force a Game 7. That game would take place Saturday, so if Toronto is able to get a victory Thursday, VanVleet should be considered optimistically questionable for Game 7. With VanVleet sidelined for Game 5, the Raptors rolled with Gary Trent, Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam and Khem Birch as the starting five.

VanVleet (hip) is considered doubtful for Thursday's Game 6 against the 76ers, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
A strained left hip kept VanVleet out of Game 5 on Monday, and it looks like he's headed toward a second straight absence as the Raptors seek their third straight victory. Toronto has very little reliable depth at guard, so if VanVleet does remain out, look for Toronto to again lean heavily on Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes and Gary Trent -- all of whom played at least 39 minutes in Game 5. The Raptors rolled with Khem Birch as the fifth starter, while Precious Achiuwa (27 minutes) also saw increased time off the bench.
