Thompson will start in Sunday's game against Cleveland, Tony East of Forbes.com reports.

The Pacers won't have any of their usual starters Sunday, allowing Thompson to re-enter the starting lineup for the third time in the last four games. In eight starts during the 2025-26 campaign, the 26-year-old has averaged 9.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.0 steals in 27.9 minutes.

Thompson won't start Friday's game against Charlotte, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.

With Ben Sheppard entering the starting five, Thompson will retreat to the second unit. The two-way player has averaged 4.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.1 minutes per game over 18 appearances off the bench this season.

The Pacers have ruled out Thompson (two-way) for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.

Thompson received 27 minutes in both of the Pacers' past two games, but because he's eligible to suit up for just 10 more contests at the NBA level over the rest of the season while he's signed to a two-way deal, Indiana will hold him out Friday in an afford to preserve some of his availability down the stretch. Fellow two-way player Quenton Jackson was inactive for Thursday's loss to Washington, but he'll suit up Friday and will likely end up absorbing most of Thompson's vacated minutes.

Thompson tallied 15 points (6-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and three steals across 27 minutes in Wednesday's 115-110 win over the Nets.

EDGE Analysis

A two-way player, Thompson joined the banged-up Pacers for the second half of their back-to-back set and made an impact. The 26-year-old guard recorded a career-high 15 points and was one of six Indiana players to score in double figures. He also set a new career high in steals, grabbing multiple swipes for the third time this season. While Thompson shouldn't be expected to enter the rotation on a regular basis, he may continue to play a role for the parent club whenever it sits key contributors.

Thompson (two-way) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Nets.

EDGE Analysis

A two-way player, Thompson hasn't seen action for the Pacers or their G League affiliate, the Noblesville Boom, since last Wednesday while he's been managing a thumb issue, but the injury doesn't look like it will prevent him from playing against Brooklyn. With eight other players listed out with injuries and with Micah Potter (ankle) and Jarace Walker (illness) considered questionable, Thompson appears likely to be included in the rotation Wednesday.

Thompson racked up two points (1-1 FG) and one assist over four minutes during Monday's 126-119 loss to Houston.

EDGE Analysis

Thompson barely touched the floor Monday, continuing the recent decline in playing time. It would appear as though Indiana will have very little to play for later in the season, other than lottery balls. Head coach Rick Carlisle has already shown his hand when it comes to experimenting with different lineups, something that could very well continue for the remainder of the season. Thompson can be dropped in most formats, although managers will want to monitor the situation in case things change at some point.

Thompson is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Boston.
