Bledsoe had been in a major funk coming into the contest, averaging just 7.1 points on 42.5 percent shooting over his previous 14 games. He snapped out of the slump with an efficient shooting performance and netted his highest point total since scoring 21 against the Bulls on Nov. 14. Bledsoe's contributions as a passer and rebounder rounded out a strong overall line, though they weren't enough to keep Utah from notching its eighth straight win.

Bledsoe will come off the bench for a second straight game Saturday against the Kings, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Coach Tyronn Lue is starting big, opting to start Paul George at shooting guard and Marcus Morris at small forward, with Serge Ibaka and Ivica Zubac up front. In Bledsoe's first game off the bench Friday against the Lakers, he played 18 minutes and posted eight points, four assists and one rebound.

The veteran guard was the best backcourt producer by a mile Sunday, as Reggie Jackson failed to score. Luke Kennard and Terance Mann didn't fare much better. and although Bledsoe was unable to record an assist, he achieved a rare event by leading the team in rebounding. If Bledsoe keeps his secondary production up, he should be able to avoid his recent four-game stretch, where he only averaged 3.8 points per game.

Bledsoe struggled once again Tuesday, continuing a worrying trend that has become a bit of a theme of late. After a nice start to his season, Bledsoe has looked more and more like the player we saw last season as opposed to that which we saw during his prime. The starting role is his to lose, though, and while he can certainly be dropped in competitive leagues, he could ramp things back up at some point.

Despite being a bit up and down this season, Bledsoe's role is set in stone, so he makes for a serviceable 12-team option on most nights.

The veteran guard entered Thursday's contest averaging only 8.8 points on 33.7 percent shooting from the field, so his strong shooting and scoring Thursday was a major boost for Los Angeles. Bledsoe finished one point shy of his season high in scoring, which he achieved against Golden State in the Clippers' opening game of the campaign. As a nice bonus, Bledsoe also swatted three shots in the win, falling one short of his career high in that category.

Bledsoe had just three points (1-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two steals and one assist in 22 minutes during Friday's 111-92 loss to Portland.

EDGE Analysis

Bledsoe has slowed dramatically over the past three games, with his steal numbers the only thing keeping him relevant. He has shot under 30 percent in each of his last four games, playing in excess of 30 minutes in just one of those. Fantasy managers are well within their rights to cut bait here, given his upside is fringe 12-team, at best.

Though he lacked the hot hand he exhibited in the Clippers' season-opener, Bledsoe made his mark across the box score Saturday, leading the team in assists while chipping in six boards and a pair of both steals and blocks. The veteran guard has played at least 30 minutes in each of Los Angeles' first two contests and appears set for a key offensive role with Kawhi Leonard (knee) set for an extended absence. Bledsoe is averaging 17.0 points, 4.5 boards, 4.5 dimes, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks thus far in his reunion with the Clippers.

With Kawhi Leonard (knee) due for an extended absence, Bledsoe has the opportunity to establish himself as a vital part of the offense alongside Paul George if he's able to build upon Thursday's effort.

Bledsoe averaged 4.0 points, 3.8 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 17.1 minutes during four preseason appearances.

EDGE Analysis

Bledsoe shot just 31.3 percent from the field and failed to hit a three-pointer (0-for-2) in his 68 preseason minutes. However, his passing and defense were encouraging. Bledsoe is expected to start alongside Reggie Jackson in the backcourt, but it wouldn't be surprising for them to have their minutes staggered.
