Clingan recorded his fourth double-double in the past five games, continuing to deliver elite rebounding numbers on a regular basis. While the production has certainly been adequate, his lack of blocks is something that can't be overlooked. In his past six games, Clingan has tallied two total blocks, less than adequate for a player whose value is built around defensive contributions. Look for him to try and get back on track against the Celtics on Monday.

Although the Rockets were vulnerable under the basket without Alperen Sengun's (ankle) services, Clingan was unable to take advantage. Fortunately for the Trail Blazers, Deni Avdija was able to pick up most of the slack with a career-high performance, and the team prevailed despite less potency from their young center. Clingan snapped a three-game double-double streak, but he'll try to renew another run in a Friday rematch against the Rockets.

Although Jusuf Nurkic outscored Clingan in the paint, Clingan won the rebound battle and logged his third-best total in the category while increasing his double-double streak to four games. Clingan is proving to be well worth his first-round selection in the 2024 Draft, and his steady play makes him one of the most consistent big men in the Western Conference with a 33-game average of 11.2 points and 10.8 rebounds.

Clingan closed Saturday's 115-110 win over the Spurs with 24 points (9-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 12 rebounds and four assists in 34 minutes.

Clingan did most of his damage in the first half, scoring 18 of his season-high 24 points. He finished with what was his fourth double-double in the past five games, all of which have resulted in victories for the Trail Blazers. While he does have some offensive limitations, Clingan has been able to maintain consistent fantasy value, averaging 11.2 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks through 32 games.

The second-year center has recorded three double-doubles over his last four games and is up to 11 on the season, which is tied with Deni Avdija for most on the Trail Blazers. Over his last 10 appearances, Clingan has averaged 12.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.2 threes and 1.3 blocks over 29.0 minutes per game.

Seven of Clingan's 18 boards came on the offensive glass, and his rebounds were his most since Nov. 19 against the Bulls (21). It was his ninth double-double of the season, three of which have come over his last five outings. Over that five-game span, Clingan has averaged 13.4 points on 71.1 percent shooting along with 12.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 blocks over 31.2 minutes per game.

EDGE Analysis

Clingan kept pace with Jalen Duren for most of the contest, but he was unable to contain the Detroit big man in the closing minutes. He was a key part of the fourth-quarter rally that erased a 21-point deficit, but he withered with the rest of the unit on the defensive end while the Pistons completed an 11-2 run at the end of the game.
