Christmas will miss the rest of the season with a right Achilles tendon rupture, Derek Bodner of DraftExpress.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Christmas has spent the 2016-17 campaign with the Delaware 87ers of the D-League, partaking in 31 games, while averaging 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.0 three-pointers across 31.6 minutes. However, his recent rupture of his Achilles tendon will rule him out for the rest of the season, which means there's little to no chance he's given a look by an NBA team. He'll start the long road to recovery and will likely open the 2017-18 season in the D-League in order to audition for a spot in the big league.

Christmas was waived by the Sixers on Monday, Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Christmas has been out of the league since the 2013-14 season, when he spent 62 games split between the Pelicans and Suns. He was with the Sixers throughout training camp recently, but was unable to impress the coaching staff and will likely have to settle for a contract in the D-League or overseas to start the 2016-17 campaign.

Christmas signed with the 76ers on Monday, Tom Moore of Calkins Media reports.
EDGE Analysis
A former standout player at Temple, Christmas has made his rounds overseas since going undrafted in 2009. The signing is likely an effort to get Christmas on the team's D-League affiliate in Delaware, so look for that to be Christmas' ultimate destination.

Christmas signed with AEK Athens of Greece on Thursday, Sportando reports.
EDGE Analysis
Christmas signed on to play with Israeli club Hapoel Holon back in December, but only appeared in two games before being released. The 29-year-old hasn't played in the NBA since the 2013-14 campaign, when he made 31 appearances with the Suns.

Christmas is signing with Israeli team Hapoel Holon, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! reports.
EDGE Analysis
Waived by Cleveland during the preseason, the 29-year-old Christmas made each of his 31 NBA regular-season appearances during the 2013-14 campaign. He may be back next year to try out for another team, but he faces an uphill battle to catch on in the NBA.

Christmas was waived by the Cavaliers on Friday, Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Releasing Christmas puts the Cavaliers at 17 players, bringing them two cuts away from the regular season roster max of 15. Christmas last played with the Suns during the 2013-14 season, where he participated in 31 games and finished with averages of 2.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists over six minutes. Considering he spent a whole year away from the NBA, it wouldn't be surprising if he failed to garner any further interest. Christmas may opt to begin the season in the NBA D-League in hopes of receiving a contract offer later in the year.

Christmas was waived by the Pelicans on Friday, The Arizona Republic reports. Christmas only played in 31 games during his rookie campaign with Phoenix and was subsequently waived in the offseason. He was then picked up by the Pelicans for a training camp audition and that obviously didn't pan out either. The 28-year-old will search for another spot on an NBA roster, although he won't likely have much of a role if he does in fact get another opportunity.

Christmas did not play in New Orleans' first preseason game due to a sprained right ankle, the Times-Picayune reports. The injury is unfortunate for Christmas, who already faced long odds of making the team out of training camp. He'll need to shine when he returns to the court in order to earn a spot on the final roster.

Christmas has agreed to a training camp contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, the Times-Picayune reports. The 6-foot-5 guard appeared in 31 games with the Phoenix Suns last season but was waived during the offseason despite his non-guaranteed contract. Christmas averaged 10.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game at the Las Vegas Summer League, but remains a long shot to secure a spot on New Orleans' regular season roster.

The Phoenix Suns waived Dionte Christmas on Thursday. Christmas has bounced around between the NBA and Euro-league play the past few seasons. He appeared in 27 games for the Suns last in 2013-2014, averaging only 2.3 points on 35.5 percent shooting. Considering he already has overseas experience, he may look to take his talents abroad if he does not earn a roster spot in the NBA.
