With Memphis devoid of postseason aspirations and Conley a valued veteran who's suffered his fair share of injuries over the years, Wright could well be in line for a solid allotment of playing time down the stretch.

Wright is slated to draw just his third start of the 2018-2019 season. He's been solid off the bench of late, posting averages of 9.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists over his previous five matchups.

With Mike Conley (illness) cleared for the second half of the back-to-back set, Wright settled back into a second-unit role and noticed an eight-minute decline in playing time as a result. It's still encouraging that Wright paced the bench in minutes and offered decent numbers across the board. The Utah product could be a decent player to stash in the event Conley receives more frequent rest in the final two months of a lost season for Memphis.

As a result, Wright is likely to see plenty of minutes for the remainder of the season, as Memphis will want to get a good look at the soon-to-be restricted free agent before they invest long-term (or allow him to walk).

Regardless, after being third in the pecking order at point guard in Toronto, Wright should see a bump in minutes and overall usage as he eventually takes over ball-handling duties for the Grizzlies' second unit.
