The Clippers opted not to sign Miller to a 10-day contract, the Los Angeles Times reports. After being released by the Pelicans last month, Miller returned home to Kentucky to work out privately. That may not have been his wisest decision, as the Clippers decided during Tuesday's workout that Miller was not in sufficient game shape. "If he had come in great [shape], we probably still would have waited just to try to get him in basketball shape," coach Doc Rivers said. "I'm sure that's what he's going to do." While the Clippers moved on and signed veteran Dahntay Jones to a 10-day deal Wednesday, Rivers left door open, stating that the Clippers may consider signing Miller later in the season.

Miller has signed a 10-day contract with the Clippers, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports. He was waived by the Pelicans back in November, but will offer depth to the Clippers' main weak spot -- the wing. Matt Barnes should continue to start, but Miller figures to be just as likely as Chris Douglas-Roberts or Reggie Bullock to see minutes off the bench at the three.

Miller was waived by the Pelicans on Sunday. The Pelicans opted to waive both Miller and Patric Young on Sunday, freeing up a pair of roster spots. Miller appeared in only five games on the season, averaging 8.6 minutes in those contests. The 2012 second-rounder is a solid shooter and defender and should draw mild interest around the league as a free agent.

Miller received a DNP Friday against the Hawks a game after starting in place of the injured Eric Gordon. Miller was shut out in his start against the Kings, missing all three of the shots he attempted. Instead, Austin Rivers started Friday but he missed all eight of his attempts. The Pelicans certainly have a conundrum at shooting guard now with Gordon out. Tyreke Evans slid over to small forward Friday to let Rivers start, but after his terrible night, Evans could move back over to guard and Miller could see some playing time once again.

Miller earned the start in place of Eric Gordon, but was shut out of the box score with the exception of three missed shots and three personal fouls. Miller played only 14 minutes, with Luke Babbitt, John Salmons and Jimmer Fredette joining the rotation as well. However, that trio combined to shoot just 2-for-7, failing to do much to impress. Austin Rivers, who scored eight points and added three rebounds, stands to gain the most with Gordon sidelined.

Miller will likely move into the starting lineup Tuesday against the Kings, Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. With Eric Gordon (shoulder) slated to miss a good chunk of time, Miller is the top candidate to move into the starting five at small forward, as Tyreke Evans shifts to shooting guard. The Kentucky product has played sparingly this season, appearing in four games and playing double-digit minutes in only one of those contests.

Miller returned to practice Tuesday, Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Miller was home with family for the past week following the birth of his daughter, who was born Thursday. Miller will likely be available for Wednesday's game, though he isn't much of a fantasy contributor, having played just four total minutes this season.

Miller (personal) remains on the team's inactive list Saturday, NBA.com's Jim Eichenhofer reports. He is still at home with his family after the birth of his daughter, and should return to the team next week.

Miller is out Tuesday with a personal issue, the Times-Picayune's Nakia Hogan reports. It's not clear what the nature of the personal issue is, but Miller should be considered day-to-day.

Miller is starting his second consecutive preseason game at small forward Monday in Atlanta, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. With Tyreke Evans recovering from a right hamstring strain, Miller is getting the nod at small forward in order to gain more experience with the starting five. In Saturday's exhibition opener, Miller managed eight points (4-12 FG, 0-5 3Pt) and three boards in 32 minutes.
