He has been seeing some increased run lately and with DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) set to miss the rest of the season, Miller could be a nice addition to the end of your bench if you are in need of some scoring and three-pointers.

Miller hasn't seen 30 minutes since the first Pelicans' game of the new year, and he made the most of his opportunity Wednesday night, pouring in his second-highest point total of the season. The Pelicans use a small rotation of nine guys, and without a true small forward in the starting lineup, along with Anthony Davis struggling Wednesday, Miller saw a fair share of minutes and shot lights out in those minutes, missing just two shots. Miller is still too inconsistent to trust, but he has potential on the Pelicans to carve out a niche for himself off the bench.

Miller managed three points (1-5 FG, 1-5 3Pt) and two rebounds in 18 minutes during Tuesday's 116-113 overtime win against the Celtics.

EDGE Analysis

Miller remains mostly a three-point shooting specialist who will occasionally cobble up some additional stats. The Pelicans are usually looking for all the help they can get in the area of bench scoring, with Ian Clark, Miller, and Jameer Nelson chipping in more often than anyone else. Coach Alvin Gentry has shown a willingness to stick with the hot hand down the stretch of close games, and on this night it was Ian Clark who excelled and ultimately replaced Rajon Rondo during crunch time. Meanwhile, Miller has scored in double figures 13 times in 2017-18, and he is averaging 21.3 minutes per game.

Miller was a late addition to the starting lineup at power forward for Monday's game against the Rockets, Will Guillory of NOLA.com reports.

Anthony Davis (groin) is sitting out Monday's contest and Dante Cunningham was expected to start in his place. However, Cunningham is now dealing with a right knee injury of his own and is questionable to play, which allow Miller to make the last second switch to the starting lineup. Whether Cunningham plays off the bench or not, Miller should be in line for a hefty workload in the frontcourt sans Davis.

Miller supplied 15 points (5-8 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and four assists across 28 minutes in Friday's 114-108 loss to the Jazz.

The fourth-year forward continues to trend upward, as Friday's production represented his fifth double-digit scoring effort in the last six games. Miller has been particularly proficient from long distance throughout the season, as he's shooting a career-best 49.4 percent from behind the arc on an average of four three-point attempts per contest. The minutes continue to be there for him as well, as Miller has seen no less than 21 in any of the last nine contests. WIth Anthony Davis (groin) potentially set to miss multiple games, Miller could seen even more of an uptick in opportunity in coming games.

Miller scored 10 points (3-10 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT) while adding nine rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes off the bench during Friday's 115-89 win over the Suns.

He got some extra run in the fourth quarter with the Pelicans taking a 32-point lead into the final frame, and Miller responded with a season high in boards. The 27-year-old has now drained multiple three-pointers in 10 of the last 11 games and he's even been picking up his pace, averaging 24.6 minutes, 12.2 points, 3.3 boards, 3.2 threes and 2.0 assists over his last six contests. With Anthony Davis and Boogie Cousins demanding so much defensive attention, Miller should continue seeing plenty of open looks and a steady role on the second unit as long as he's converting them.

Still, Miller is filling in well at a position of need for the Pelicans, and all three of his double-digit scoring efforts in 2017-18 have come over the last five tilts.
