Sword made the most of his 22 minutes off the bench, missing just two shots from the field and recording his first double-digit scoring performance since Feb. 10. He's reached the 10-point plateau in just three of his eight appearances since the start of February.

Sword has had some challenging moments this season, but he remains in the opening lineup despite the ups and downs. He's averaging 7.8 points per game while being a starter in all but one of the team's appearances in the regular season.

EDGE Analysis

Sword barely saw time despite being included in the starting lineup, but he made the most of his time out there. It remains to be seen if the lack of minutes was due an apparent injury or simply a coaching decision. Either way, he hasn't been producing much when given the chance of late.

Sword had 16 points (7-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 24 minutes in Thursday's win over Motor City.

EDGE Analysis

Vernon Carey led the way for Capital City with 20 points, but Sword found a way to end up as one of the team's top offensive performers both in terms of points scored and efficiency, as he missed just one shot from the field. Sword has scored in double digits despite playing less than 25 minutes in each of his first two games of the regular season.

Sword recorded 12 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 26 minutes in Wednesday's loss to Raptors 905.

EDGE Analysis

Even though Vernon Carey was Capital City's main scoring threat in this game, Sword left his mark as well and was one of the Go-Go's three starters to score in double digits. He's accomplished that feat just twice this season, but it's worth noting that both outings have come over his last five appearances.

Sword posted nine points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and an assist across 19 minutes in Monday's 110-100 win over Greensboro.

EDGE Analysis

Sword was efficient in this game and his shooting numbers have looked very good this season, as he's making 61.5 percent of his shots across his four appearances. That said, he's only logging 15.5 minutes per contest, so he's not playing enough to be considered a factor on offense on a game-to-game basis. In fact, he's failed to reach the 20-minute mark in each of his past three contests.

Sword was waived by the Wizards on Saturday, Ava Wallace of The Washington Post reports.

EDGE Analysis

Sword never saw preseason action for Washington. He did play 59 Summer League minutes and totaled 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, four blocks and two steals. He may end up in the G League.

The Wizards signed Sword to a training camp deal Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Sword played three games for the Wizards last season and averaged 2.0 points and 1.3 steals in 6.3 minutes. The 28-year-old guard also played 14 games for the Capital City Go-Go of the G League in the 2021-22 season. Sword's signing coincides with the team waiving Makur Maker.

EDGE Analysis

There were seven Go-Go players that scored 10 or more points in this lopsided win and Sword wasn't one of those, but he was efficient, at least. Either way, he's buried down the depth chart and is not expected to be a major factor going forward.
