Kaman hasn't appeared in any of the Trail Blazers' four games so far this season.
EDGE Analysis
Kaman is no stranger to missing time due to injury over his 12 seasons in the league, but this looks to be the case where he's simply behind too many players on the depth chart to crack the rotation. The 33-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the Trail Blazers, and with the team embracing a youth movement, there's little incentive for coach Terry Stotts to give Kaman much run.

Kaman wasn't waived by the Blazers on Tuesday, meaning he'll remain with the organization in 2015-16, CSNNW.com reports. Prior to last season, Kaman inked a two-year deal with the Blazers, which included a team option for the second season. In conjunction with the addition of Mason Plumlee on draft night, Portland has likely taken themselves out of the running to resign Robin Lopez, but in any case, Kaman will provide support to the center rotation once again this coming season.

Kaman said Thursday that he'd like to return to Portland next season, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports. The Blazers have not announced if they will pick up his $5 million team option. Kaman was productive off the bench this season, averaging 8.6 points and 6.5 rebounds in only 18.9 minutes per game. It's unclear what direction Portland will go this season, as a number of key players, including Robin Lopez and LaMarcus Aldridge are set to become free agents. Kaman spent much of the season backing up Lopez, but Lopez struggled down the stretch, while third-year center Myers Leonard emerged as an offensive threat. With Leonard seemingly headed for an expanded role next season, it seems unlikely that Portland would hold onto both Lopez and Kaman, and the team is yet to tip its hand as to whether it plans to bring either player back. If Kaman's option is declined, he'll seek his fifth NBA team in as many seasons.

Kaman (ankle) was considered probable for Game 4 against the Grizzlies, but ultimately logged a DNP-CD. Kaman was hopeful to play Monday, but unfortunately did not make it onto the court. Although he's listed as a DNP-CD, there's a high likelihood that the Blazers were just being cautious with the veteran. Fortunately for his team, the Blazers managed to prevent getting swept, which means Kaman will have a chance to return in Game 5.

Kaman (ankle) is listed as probable for Game 4 against the Grizzlies on Monday. Kaman actually played through his ankle sprain in Game 3 on Saturday so it would be a bit surprising if he stayed off the court in Game 4. He's averaging 15.5 minutes on the court in the playoffs thus far and will likely see around that same total Monday if he does in fact play.

Kaman (ankle) said Friday that he plans on playing in Saturday's Game 3, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports. Kaman sat out Game 2 after spraining his ankle in practice, but with a few more day to recover he expects to be on the court as the Blazers look to avoid going down 0-3 in the series.

Kaman (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Grizzlies, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports. Kaman was dealing with a back issue coming into the first round series, but the Blazers are now listing him as "out" with a left ankle injury, which he apparently suffered in practice Tuesday. Kaman posted seven points and six rebounds in 14 minutes in Game 1, and in his absence, expect Meyers Leonard and Joel Freeland to pick up some extra run off the bench.

Kaman (back) had a solid performance in Game 1 against the Grizzlies, posting seven points, six rebounds, and two assists in 14 minutes of action. Kaman is playing behind LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez in the rotation, so seeing 14 minutes per night isn't unexpected. Still, he was able to post solid numbers in limited minutes, and it isn't hard to expect him to continue that trend moving forward.
