Ware hasn't been able to stick in the NBA since leaving Long Beach State in 2013, and he spent last season with Melbourne United in Australia. The 28-year-old is unlikely to earn an NBA roster spot any time soon.

Ware was fourth on the depth chart at point guard for the Wizards and wasn't attending training camp on a fully-guaranteed contract, so it was inevitable that he'd be let go at the conclusion of preseason play. He'll likely head overseas to continue his career.

Ware has been waived by the Nets, the Wall Street Journal's Alex Raskin reports. The Nets' roster now stands at 15 players, and the speedy Ware will look to catch on with a D-League team or a foreign team.

Ware was traded to the Nets Friday, the NY Post reports. Ware will join the Nets as a reserve point guard behind the likes of Deron Williams and Jarrett Jack. In the one year he's been in the league, Ware played in nine games, where he averaged 5.3 points, one rebound, 1.1 assists, and 0.9 steals. Due to his inexperience, it's questionable what kind of role, if any, he'll have this season.

Ware scored 14 points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3P, 9-10 FT) with three rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's preseason game against the Hornets. He didn't get much run after joining the dumpster fire that was the Sixers' roster at the end of last season, but a strong showing in the summer league gave the club an excuse to bring him back for another look. Michael Carter-Williams and Tony Wroten have a firm grip on the top of the team's point guard depth chart, but if Ware keeps playing well he could steal a bench job away from Alexey Shved.

Casper Ware will not play vs. the Jazz on Saturday. He ranked second in Orlando Pro Summer League at 19.0 points per game for the 76ers. Ware was one of the handful of esoteric guys on the team last year, but couldn't hold a regular role. He could get in the rotation due to Pierre Jackson tearing his Achilles.

76ers signed G Casper Ware to a second 10-day contract. Ware will get another chance to prove he can be a third point guard in the NBA. On his first 10-day, he averaged 3.6 points and 1.2 assists while shooting 24.0 percent from the field in 14.2 minutes.
