Byron Mullens had 15 points, four rebounds and four more 3-pointers on 5-of-8 shooting in 27 minutes on Tuesday. Blake Griffin sat this one out, which is a key fact, but any time Griffin is banged up, it looks like Mullens is going to get minutes. And even when Griffin is playing, Mullens may still be used off the bench as a long-range bomber. Keep an eye on him.

Byron Mullens attempted 12 3-point shots in Monday's preseason loss to the Kings, hitting four of them on his way to 16 points, seven rebounds and one block. That's the good news. The bad news is that he hit just 6-of-18 shots overall and had six turnovers on the night. Few big men have the lack of conscience necessary to shoot at will like Mullens, but that is what made him a fantasy phenomena last preseason. Injuries and ineffectiveness made Mullens Mania a short-lived and frustrating experience.

Byron Mullens will join the Clippers on a two-year, $2 million contract, according to Yahoo! Sports. The deal should be official early next week and it includes a second-year player option. He gives L.A. affordable frontcourt depth, but his limited rebounds and blocks make him an unlikely source of fantasy value -- he did make 1.2 threes per game last year, but overall he shot just 38.5 percent from the field.

Byron Mullens is nearing agreement on for a two-year deal with the Clippers. The Bobcats let Mullens go and made him an unrestricted free agent after basically falling out of the rotation. Mullens shot 36.9 percent from the field after the break while averaging just 19.5 minutes over that stretch. He'll provide some depth behind Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

The Lakers contacted unrestricted free agent Byron Mullens early Monday morning. Mullens didn't get a qualifying offer from the Bobcats and was pushed out of one of the worst frontcourt rotations in the NBA last season. He is one of the best big men at shooting the ball, so he could be productive in an uptempo second unit.

Byron Mullens (ankle) will not play in Friday's game against the Pistons. Mullens never got over the severe ankle sprain that originally crippled his season way back in December. It's still lingering with just a few days left in the season.

Byron Mullens, who is dealing with an elbow injury, is available for the Bobcats on Tuesday. He was iffy coming in, but just because he's available doesn't mean owners should expect any miracles, as he's struggled for consistency ever since coming back from his ankle injury this season.
