The 26-year-old made 33 appearances in the G League this season before opting to head overseas, posting averages of 15.1 points, 6.2 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 steals across 31.4 minutes.

Weber tallied 28 points (12-19 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1), four rebounds, four assists and two steals in the 133-122 win Wednesday over the Wolves.

The fact that his new contract is only partially guaranteed means it's essentially a training camp deal, so Weber will have to have a strong showing during camp and the preseason to have a shot at a final roster spot with the Heat. As of now, the guard is likely on the outside looking in.

Weber went off for 15 points (7-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three steals, and one assist in 34 minutes during Monday's 118-115 loss to the Nets.

Weber led the team in minutes and steals while contributing a career high scoring total. He has seen 20-plus minutes in each of the last three games, and Weber is getting the nod over veteran backup point guard Mario Chalmers, who was a healthy scratch.

Weber spent 13 games with the Rockets earlier this season, averaging 2.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist across 9.1 minutes per game. The signing makes sense considering the plethora of injuries the Grizzlies are currently dealing with in their backcourt. As a result, Weber could find himself in a prominent role off the bench as soon as he lands in Memphis.

Weber recorded 27 points (9-13 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals during Saturday's win over Reno.

EDGE Analysis

The VCU product had a tremendous game, leading all scorers and producing his second double-double this season. Weber has been a consistent scorer all season long and has seen most of his scoring in each outing end up past the 20-point mark. The 6-2 guard is averaging a terrific 17.7 points, 7.4 assists and 6.8 rebounds per game.

If Weber can't find any interest elsewhere in the NBA right away, look for him to remain in the G-League with the hope of earning a call up later this season.

Weber finished with two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds and two assists across 16 minutes in Wednesday's 116-98 win over the Magic.

With James Harden (hamstring) expected to miss anywhere from 2-to-6 weeks due to the injury he suffered on New Year's Eve, Weber looks like he'll be one of several players to benefit from increased minutes. The 25-year-old acted as the primary backup to starting point guard Chris Paul on Wednesday, with third-string option Bobby Brown logging a lone minute in garbage time. A 39.8 percent career shooter, Weber doesn't offer much upside on the offensive end, but his on-ball defense could be enough to keep him ahead of Brown in the rotation.

Weber was called up from the G-League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
