Roberts was traded from Miami to Portland on Thursday along with a second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberts will be able to provide depth at point guard for the Trail Blazers behind Damian Lillard, which could allow C.J. McCollum to spend more time at shooting guard when Lillard is off the court. Miami's entire reasoning for this trade is to get under the luxury tax, ultimately saving them $6 million. Prior to being dealt to the Heat on Tuesday, Roberts averaged 4.8 points, 1.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 11 minutes per game in 30 games with the Hornets.

Roberts was involved in a three-team trade Tuesday which ultimately sends him to Miami, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberts departs Charlotte with P.J. Hairston, although Hairston will head to Memphis while Courtney Lee starts anew with the Hornets. Additionally, Chris Andersen will join Hairston in Memphis with Miami also including two future second-round picks for Memphis. As it pertains to Roberts, he's still in line for limited minutes off the bench in Miami while playing behind Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson, and Beno Udrih. In fact, Roberts' current average of 11.1 minutes per game could take a hit under his this new position. Looking further ahead, the veteran has an expiring contract that makes him a free agent at the completion of this season, which means he'll likely have yet another employer before the 2016-17 campaign begins.

Roberts has appeared in two of the Hornets' five February games, averaging six points and two assists across nine minutes.
EDGE Analysis
After closing out January with two double-digit scoring performances in the final three games of the month, Roberts has seen his role in the rotation dissipate with the Hornets returning Cody Zeller (shoulder), Nicolas Batum (toe), Jeremy Lamb (toe), and Kemba Walker (knee) in recent days. Now that the Hornets' backcourt is at full health, it looks like Roberts will be limited to mop-up duty as the third-string point guard behind Walker and Jeremy Lin.

Roberts poured in 17 points (6-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT) and hauled in two rebounds over 24 minutes in Friday's 109-91 loss to the Trail Blazers.
EDGE Analysis
The four-year pro got some extended time in the blowout loss, equaling a season high in minutes and putting them to good use. Roberts' season-best scoring total marked his second consecutive game with double-digit points, and only the third time overall he'd accomplished the feat this season. All three instances have occurred within the last five games, coinciding with the 30-year-old's first extended stretch of consistent, albeit modest, playing time. Whether this pattern will persist remains to be seen, but Roberts has proven capable of piling up the points in past opportunities.

Roberts recorded seven points (2-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two assists in 13 minutes during the Hornets' 129-128 double overtime win versus the Kings on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Even in a double overtime contest, Roberts only managed to log 13 minutes. He has seen his time increase to 13 minutes per appearance in January after earning six and nine minutes per game respectively in November and December. However, he should not be on fantasy radars even in the deepest leagues given his third-string point guard role.

Roberts scored five points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go with two rebounds, one assist, and one rejection across 15 minutes in Wednesday's 111-102 loss to the Suns.
EDGE Analysis
All of Jeremy Lin, Nicolas Batum, and Jeremy Lamb have missed time or have been limited due to injury over the past five games, which has allowed Roberts to appear in each of those contests. He hasn't received more than 18 minutes in any of those games, however, so unless coach Steve Clifford expands Roberts' role in the rotation, the 30-year-old won't have much fantasy appeal.

Roberts has played in just 10 of Charlotte's 21 games this season.
EDGE Analysis
Roberts hasn't gotten a lot of opportunities this season, only playing more than six minutes in two games this season, and hasn't posted more than five points or assists in any game this season. He shouldn't be looked at as a fantasy option in nearly any format, other than extremely deep leagues.

Roberts didn't see any action for Charlotte in their 116-11 win Monday over the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
Roberts' numbers this season are very low in comparison to the other years of his career. Through the first 12 games, he's only averaging 2.0 points in just 6.3 minutes per game. The main reason he's seen this decline is due to the addition of Jeremy Lin this season, which puts Roberts not only behind Kemba Walker but also Lin.

Roberts has appeared in just two of the Hornets' four games thus far, averaging 3.5 points over 9.5 minutes per contest.
EDGE Analysis
Roberts saw six minutes of action in Monday's 130-105 win over the Bulls, but the large margin of victory likely had much to do with his presence on the court. The offseason addition of Jeremy Lin has bumped Roberts down to third on the Hornets' depth chart at point guard, leaving him with little room to carve out much of a role in coach Steve Clifford's rotation.

Roberts (knee) will play in Monday's preseason game against the Bulls.
EDGE Analysis
Originally labeled as questionable for Monday's tilt, Roberts was given the go-ahead to suit up for the contest after participating in morning shootaround without complications. Roberts, who is averaging 10.2 points on 56.7 percent shooting over just 19.6 minutes per game in the preseason, is in line to serve in a backup capacity behind Kemba Walker at point guard, though he'll have to fight with offseason import Jeremy Lin for minutes off the bench.
