Podziemski (wrist) underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a core muscle injury, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Despite the pair of surgeries, Podziemski is expected to make a full recovery before the start of training camp. The 22-year-old saw a slight uptick in production as a sophomore, logging 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game during the regular season.

The Warriors announced Wednesday that Podziemski underwent successful left wrist debridement surgery and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

It's unclear when Podziemski picked up the left wrist injury, though it isn't likely to impact his status ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The 22-year-old guard had a fairly productive second season, finishing the 2024-25 campaign with averages of 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals across 26.8 minutes per game in 64 regular-season appearances (33 starts). He also recorded 44.5/37.2/75.8 shooting splits during that span.

With Stephen Curry (hamstring) sidelined once again, Podziemski was able to shoulder more of the scoring load, albeit in a losing effort. After a slow start to the season, Podziemski found his footing in the Warriors' scheme, averaging 14.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.6 three-pointers over the final 27 games.

Podziemski closed Monday's 117-110 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 11 points (3-14 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, one assist and four steals in 33 minutes.

The Warriors have really needed Podziemski to step up in the absence of Stephen Curry (hamstring), but that hasn't happened. In his last two outings, Podziemski hit a combined 4-of-24 from the field and 1-of-8 from beyond the arc with averages of 8.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.5 steals in 36.0 minutes.

With Stephen Curry (hamstring) sidelined, Podziemski was one of five Warriors who scored in double figures Thursday. It was the first time the young guard cracked double digits in the scoring column since Game 6 against the Rockets. The Santa Clara product is averaging 7.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game in this second-round series, shooting 31.3 percent from the floor and 22.2 percent from deep. Curry is expected to miss at least two more games.

Although Podziemski had a quiet showing in the Game 1 win, the Warriors may need a lot more from him going forward -- Stephen Curry tweaked his left hamstring Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined through Game 4. Through eight playoff games, Podziemski is averaging 10.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 0.8 steals in 30.1 minutes.

Podziemski will be in the starting lineup for Game 7 of the Western Conference first-round series against the Rockets on Sunday.

Podziemski will replace Gary Payton (illness) in the first unit for this win-or-go-home scenario on the road. Jimmy Butler led the Warriors in scoring with 27 points, but Podziemski nearly matched him in the best performance of his brief playoff career. The second-year guard failed to score a point at all over 14 minutes in Game 2, however, so Monday's effort, while impressive, isn't necessarily a sign of better things to come. Podziemski will try to stay productive in Game 5 on Wednesday as the Warriors look to advance to the second round.

The second-year guard misses the entire second quarter and the beginning of the second half due to an illness, and he clearly wasn't 100 percent when he was on the court, failing to pick up any secondary stats in addition to missing all his shot attempts. Podziemski will have a couple of days to recover before the series shifts to Golden State for Game 3 on Saturday.
