Mathurin has taken the league by storm in his first two games. While some regression is to be expected given how good he's looked early on, the fact that he has scored over 18 points in his first two outings while shooting 50 percent from the field shows his offensive game is more than ready for the NBA level. It wouldn't be surprising if Mathurin sees more minutes going forward.

Unfortunately, the Pacers guard got a bit sloppy in the third quarter, turning the ball over on back-to-back possessions while missing two easy shots in the paint. He also missed all three of his free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter as Washington continued to pull away down the stretch. Still, it was a solid performance for the Pacers' rookie guard in his debut.

Mathurin continued to fire away from the floor, reaffirming the confidence the coaching staff have clearly afforded him. Come the regular season, he is likely to take a bit of a step back, once the team is at full strength. With that being said, he is obviously a big part of their long-term future and although he will be coming off the bench, he makes for a viable option toward the back end of standard drafts.
