Although his scoring continues to be an issue, Thompson has been a relatively consistent source of steals and blocks, while also providing out-of-position rebounds on a nightly basis. For those not seeking points in fantasy basketball, he certainly warrants a roster spot.

Thompson's minutes continue to rise and fall, with his 19 minutes Thursday marking his lowest point since he saw 16 minutes against the Jazz on Dec. 26. Including that game, Thompson has averaged 8.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks in 24.0 minutes across his past nine appearances. It seems unlikely at this point that he'll put together the breakout season many were hoping for.

Thompson chipped in 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals over 29 minutes during Wednesday's 108-93 win over the Bulls.

EDGE Analysis

The third-year forward recorded multiple steals and blocks in the same game for the first time since Dec. 20, and the fourth time this season. Thompson's production remains erratic, but over the last 10 games he's averaging 11.3 points, 6.1 boards, 1.9 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.1 blocks.

Thompson ended with eight points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 22 minutes during Sunday's 114-110 win over the Cavaliers.

EDGE Analysis

Tobias Harris (hip) is going to miss a couple of weeks, while Jalen Duren (ankle) is expected to miss at least one week. Thompson should, in theory, play more minutes for Detroit as a result, but his workload Sunday was a bit disappointing from a fantasy perspective.

Thompson logged seven points (3-6 FG, 1-4 FT), two rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 22 minutes during Tuesday's 128-106 victory over the Lakers.

Thompson failed to get anything going in the victory and ceded a lot of production to Marcus Sasser, whose shot was more dialed in. Although Thompson is injury-free, he's in the midst of a horrible three-game slump, producing only 21 points, 14 rebounds and four assists over the last three contests.

Thompson finished Monday's 110-102 victory over Portland with 18 points (8-16 FG, 2-4 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals in 28 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

After blowing a 21-point lead, Thompson led a late rally in the fourth quarter after Cade Cunningham fouled out. Thompson posted four key points along with two rebounds and a steal in the closing minutes during an 11-2 run that sealed the victory. The win also marked Thompson's third double-double of the season.

Thompson finished with 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, two assists, four blocks and three steals across 26 minutes during Saturday's 112-86 win over Charlotte.

EDGE Analysis

Thompson has arguably his best two-way performance of the season, recording a season-high seven combined steals and blocks. Despite a consistent starting role, Thompson's playing time has been a source of frustration for fantasy managers. While this issue doesn't seem to be going away any time soon, a performance like this is at least a step in the right direction. Look for him to try to build on this effort when the Pistons face the Trail Blazers on Monday.

Thompson was ejected from Thursday's game against Dallas after being assessed two technical fouls, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports. He'll finish the night with eight points (3-6 FG, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in nine minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Thompson was upset after he wasn't granted a foul call, and he was quickly ejected from the matchup upon letting the official know of his displeasure. Javonte Green and Caris LeVert will likely be asked to step up the rest of the way in Thompson's absence.
