Davis recorded 22 points (6-18 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 10-11 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal across 38 minutes in Friday's loss to Phoenix.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was one of four Lakers players that scored in double digits, and the star big man has dropped at least 20 points in each of his first two appearances of the season. The big issue with Davis is whether he can remain healthy for an entire season or not, but if he does, he should be one of the most productive big men in the league across all formats.

Davis finished with 33 points (15-26 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-7 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal across 39 minutes in Tuesday's loss against the Warriors.
EDGE Analysis
Davis led the Lakers in shot attempts and was only one of two players t0 score in double digits, with LeBron James being the other one, so it's clear he's going to play a pivotal role on offense even when he shares the court with James and Russell Westbrook. Perhaps most importantly, the star big man also paced the Lakers in minutes played, and considering he only appeared in 36 games last season, this is a great sign for what he can accomplish moving forward as long as he remains healthy.

Davis finished Thursday's preseason game against the Kings with 14 points (5-18 FG, 4-7 FT), 12 rebounds and two blocks.
EDGE Analysis
The big man continues to struggle to find a rhythm offensively, as he once again settled for a number of tough looks in the mid-range on his way to a woefully inefficient night from the field. Still, Davis was able to pull down a team-high 12 rebounds while chipping in a pair of blocks. Coming off of a disappointing 2020-21 season, fantasy managers are hoping for a bounceback season from Davis, but it shouldn't be a surprise if he gets off to another sluggish start as the Lakers attempt to integrate Russell Westbrook, as well as an entirely new cast of role players.

Davis will be rested for Friday's exhibition game against the Warriors, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis recorded 14 points (5-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks with zero turnovers across 25 minutes in Wednesday's game against the Suns. He has suited up for the team's first to preseasons games, so no surprise to see them give him the night off Friday.

Davis recorded 14 points (5-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks with zero turnovers in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 117-105 loss to the Suns.
EDGE Analysis
Davis put on a strong two-way performance in the Lakers' second preseason game with LeBron James and Russell Westbrook again getting the night off for rest. While Davis' numbers are encouraging, the team dynamic will be completely different once James and Westbrook are on the court.

Davis had six points (2-6 FG, 2-3 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal in Sunday's preseason opener against the Nets.
EDGE Analysis
With LeBron James and Russell Westbrook resting, Davis was on his own as the Lakers opened the exhibition season with a 123-97 loss. Davis saw just 11 minutes of action and was relatively quiet, hitting just two field goals and turning the ball over twice. The Lakers will likely keep a close eye on Davis' workload throughout the preseason.

Davis is expected to play only the first quarter of Sunday's preseason opener against the Nets, Bill Oram of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook are all out due to rest, so it's not surprising that Davis will likely see 12 minutes or fewer. Plenty of minutes should be available for the Lakers' new-look bench.

Davis is expected to start at center for the Lakers this season, Bill Oram, Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic report.
EDGE Analysis
As part of a far-ranging report on the Lakers' offseason, the story reveals that Davis has apparently embraced the possibility of spending more time at center -- something he's resisted in the past. With Russell Westbrook on board, it's hard to argue against starting Davis at the five, where he can serve as the primary rim protector while also spacing the floor on the other end. The expected starting lineup of Davis, LeBron James, Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington and Russell Westbrook would give the Lakers four floor spacers around Westbrook, who still attacks the rim at an elite level but is one of the league's least-efficient three-point shooters. Ultimately, Davis will likely bounce back and forth between power forward and center, but the fact that he's finally willing to embrace the challenge has to be viewed as a positive for the Lakers.

Davis (groin) played only five minutes against Phoenix in a Game 6 playoff loss Thursday, finishing with no points, one rebound and one assist.
EDGE Analysis
Davis bravely gave it a go while being obviously hobbled by a groin injury, and it didn't take long to realize that the superstar forward wasn't going to be able to continue. The disappointing ending culminated in a difficult campaign. Davis missed extensive time due to injury and finished the regular season with his lowest scoring average (21.8 points per game) since his second year in the league. Davis scored 34 points in each of the Lakers' two playoff wins and remains the most central piece of the team's plans aside from retaining LeBron James.
