Coach Darvin Ham said he expects Davis (back) to play Sunday against the Nuggets, Mark Medina of NBA.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was unavailable Friday against Minnesota and will need to go through pregame warmups before officially getting the green light Sunday, but he's certainly trending in the right direction. Over the first four games of the year, he averaged 24.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in 35.0 minutes per game.

Davis (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis missed his first game of the season Friday during the loss to Minnesota, resulting in more action for Damian Jones, Wenyen Gabriel and Troy Brown. His defensive presence would be a massive help against Nikola Jokic on Sunday.

Davis (back) will not play Friday against the Timberwolves, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Davis sidelined, Damian Jones will serve as the starting center. Davis seemed to have tweaked his back following a dunk attempt in the Lakers' most recent game, and the team has opted to give its star big man more time to heal. Extra frontcourt minutes are likely to go to Troy Brown and Wenyen Gabriel.

EDGE Analysis
Davis has not missed a game this season but has been dealing with back tightness. The star big man's official status will not likely be revealed until closer to tip-off.

Davis is questionable for Friday's game against Minnesota due to low back tightness, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis was probable ahead of Wednesday's matchup due to back tightness, but he played through the issue and logged 22 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and three steals over 36 minutes against the Nuggets. The 29-year-old has yet to miss time due to his back injury this year, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him suit up again Friday.

Davis recorded 22 points (11-19 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and three steals over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 110-99 loss to Denver.
EDGE Analysis
Although Davis entered the day with a questionable tag, he took the court anyway and led the team in points and rebounds. Davis and LeBron James will often hold questionable tags, so unless you receive news to the contrary, the questionable designations you see are usually not an indication of an absence.

Davis logged 22 points (9-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, six blocks and two steals in 36 minutes during Sunday's 106-104 loss to the Trail Blazers.
EDGE Analysis
Davis had a strong outing over the first three quarters, scoring 20 of his 22 points and blocking five shots. He struggled to get involved in the offense in the fourth quarter, taking just one shot as Portland came back to win the game. The six blocked shots were his most in a game since Feb. 25, 2020 and Sunday was his first double-double of the season.

Davis (back) will take the floor Sunday against the Trail Blazers, Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Davis took a hard fall in Thursday's game, but he returned to the game and practiced Friday, so it was pretty evident he would play following his probable label. Davis' start is on par with previous campaigns, but the question is whether he can stay healthy for a full season after playing a combined 76 games over the previous two.
